A Brief OverviewUS LBM Engineer - Application Integration specializes in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate has strong experience with containerized environments, Kubernetes orchestration, modern frontend frameworks, backend development, and both relational and NoSQL databases. This role requires a hands-on engineer who can contribute across the full software development lifecycle while mentoring team members and driving engineering best practices.
What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain integration services, APIs, and event-driven workflows across enterprise systems.
- Deploy, configure, and support containerized applications on Kubernetes.
- Build and maintain container images using Docker; familiarity with Nerdio or similar virtual desktop/container platforms is a plus.
- Build, operate, and troubleshoot Kubernetes-based application platforms.
- Participate in CI/CD practices for integration services, including build, test, and release automation.
- Implement and support observability using OpenTelemetry (OTel) instrumentation and Grafana Alloy (or equivalent collectors/agents) for metrics, logs, and distributed tracing.
- Understand basic telemetry models—metrics, logs, and traces—and apply them to monitor integration health, performance, and failures.
- Contribute to integration portals, admin tools, and operational UIs using React and Next.js.
- Develop backend services and integration logic using Go (preferred), Python, or C# (.NET).
- Design and implement data access patterns for relational and document stores, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Write efficient SQL queries and work with both schema-based and NoSQL data models in integration scenarios.
- Ensure data integrity, idempotency, and appropriate error handling in integration pipelines.
- Work with Enterprise Data & Analytics, ERP, and business teams to deliver integration solutions that support AI/ML, automation, and ERP conversion initiatives.
- Document integration designs, APIs, deployment procedures, and operational playbooks.
- Stay current with integration patterns, cloud-native tooling, and emerging enterprise technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, product managers, and DevOps engineers.
- Collaborate with IT security and compliance teams to ensure that all deployments/implementations adhere to the organization’s security policies and standards.
- Work with business analysts and process owners to understand the business requirements and process workflows for automation.

Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or relevant experience.
Experience Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building and supporting integration solutions, middleware, APIs, or enterprise application services in operational environments.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for deploying and operating containerized workloads.
- Experience with Docker for containerization; exposure to Nerdio or comparable environments is a plus.
- Experience building or maintaining front-end applications with React and Next.js.
- Any experience in the lumber and building materials industry and/or manufacturing is a huge plus.
Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of observability and telemetry, including OpenTelemetry concepts and collection via Grafana Alloy or similar agents.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language: Go (preferred), Python, or C# (.NET).
- Strong cloud-native thinking, ability to design distributed systems and hands-on experience with Azure ecosystem services
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, messaging/event patterns, and integration best practices (retries, dead-letter handling, idempotency).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability with the ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and integration failures.
- Experience with Azure cloud services, API gateways, or enterprise ERP/integration platforms is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 10% travel may be required to support business needs, including overnight stays and air travel.
