Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Unit Manager (RN) to provide clinical leadership and oversight for a resident care unit. This role is responsible for coordinating resident care, supervising nursing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting exceptional resident outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily clinical operations of an assigned resident care unit

  • Ensure residents receive quality care in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans

  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, including CNAs and LPNs

  • Monitor resident conditions and ensure timely follow-up on changes in status

  • Conduct rounds and address resident, family, and staff concerns

  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed

  • Review and maintain accurate clinical documentation

  • Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team conferences

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations

  • Support survey readiness efforts and quality improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapy staff, families, and other departments to promote positive resident outcomes

  • Assist nursing leadership with staffing, training, and employee development initiatives

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Current, unrestricted RN license in South Carolina

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred

  • Strong understanding of resident care planning, clinical documentation, and regulatory compliance

  • Experience managing and supporting nursing staff preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current CPR certification

  • Must maintain all required continuing education and licensure requirements

  • Must remain in good standing with the South Carolina Board of Nursing

Skills & Abilities

  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

  • Commitment to resident-centered care and clinical excellence
