About the role

We are looking for a Telephone Triage Nurse to join our team and help us evaluating our patient’s medical needs over the phone, ensuring they are guided to the right level of care.

Your role

• Identify patients’ care requirements, focus on their needs and act on them
• Nurture a compassionate environment by providing support
• Resolve or report on patients’ needs or problems
• Accept telephone calls from patients with varying levels of acuity and types of medical concerns
• Promote clear and coherent verbal communication following an appropriate line of questioning
• Assess clients based on the patient’s own evaluation, concerns, and responses to questions.

Requirements

Who you are

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Current, valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in triage, either by telephone or in an emergency room setting
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask
• Compassionate, with good communication skills
• Fluent in Portuguese and English (written and spoken)
• Comfortable working under pressure in fast-changing conditions
• Available to get initial training at our office in Matosinhos, Porto
  

Nice to have:

• Have experience in telephone triage, telehealth or digital health services;
• Have experience in clinical quality, audit or continuous-improvement activities.
