About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager – Cards (Issuing/Acquiring) to join our team in Riyadh.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise across card issuing and acquiring, payment schemes, card technology, payment processing, and digital wallets. The role requires a combination of technical product management, payments domain knowledge, and commercial acumen.

The successful candidate should have experience working with major international payment schemes, card processors, payment integrations, and regulatory requirements, with a strong understanding of the complete card lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive card product initiatives across issuing and acquiring, from requirements and design through implementation and optimization.
  • Manage integrations and certification activities with major payment schemes, including Visa, Mastercard, CUP, JCB, American Express, and Diners Club.
  • Coordinate scheme certification, testing, implementation, and compliance activities.
  • Drive integrations with digital wallets including Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.
  • Manage and optimize card payment journeys across authorization, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Work closely with technology, engineering, payment processors, schemes, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver card products and enhancements.
  • Define product requirements, business rules, functional specifications, APIs, integrations, and technical dependencies.
  • Work with acquiring and issuing platforms, processors, payment gateways, POS systems, and related payment infrastructure.
  • Analyze card portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, revenue, customer adoption, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to transform underperforming or loss-making card portfolios into profitable businesses.
  • Identify new revenue streams and opportunities across card products, acquiring services, merchant services, fees, and value-added propositions.
  • Optimize card processing and operational costs while maintaining service quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop innovative card propositions based on customer needs, market trends, competitive analysis, and payment industry developments.
  • Monitor product KPIs, transaction performance, authorization rates, revenue, costs, profitability, and customer adoption.
  • Ensure products comply with applicable payment scheme rules, banking regulations, security requirements, and local regulatory standards.
  • Support product roadmap development and prioritize initiatives based on business value, customer impact, technical feasibility, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in card products, payments, issuing, acquiring, or payment technology.
  • Strong practical knowledge of card issuing and acquiring.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more major payment schemes, with exposure to:
    • Visa
    • Mastercard
    • China UnionPay (CUP)
    • JCB
    • American Express
    • Diners Club
  • Experience with scheme certification and payment scheme integrations.
  • Strong experience with Apple Pay and Samsung Pay integrations.
  • Good understanding of:
    • Card authorization
    • Clearing and settlement
    • Reconciliation
    • Card processing
    • POS and merchant acquiring
    • Payment gateways
    • Card processors
    • Payment APIs and integrations
  • Strong understanding of payment architecture and card technology.
  • Experience working with technical and engineering teams on payment integrations and product delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze card portfolio performance and identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and profitability improvement.
  • Strong understanding of payment-related regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and product management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within banks, FinTechs, payment service providers, card issuers, acquirers, or payment processors.
  • Experience with card processing platforms and payment switches.
  • Knowledge of EMV, 3DS, tokenization, PCI DSS, and digital payment technologies.
  • Experience launching new card products or innovative payment propositions.
  • Experience working in an Agile product development environment.
  • Previous experience in the Saudi/KSA banking or payments market is a strong advantage.
