What will you do 

Lead Tech Ops Process Engineering agenda across multiple pharmaceutical products platforms, driving innovation, industrialization, process excellence, and technology deployment. This role is responsible for shaping manufacturing capabilities, supporting business growth through innovation, and partnering with regional and global stakeholders to develop scalable, sustainable, and competitive manufacturing solutions. The scope of work includes base business execution (INV/CAPA, troubleshooting, Rapid Response initiatives), life cycle management (technology transfers, cost reduction, efficiency improvement) and strategic projects (new technologies, network optimization, innovation, and digitization). The individual will drive work execution and decision making that is grounded in strong technical analysis, business orientation and knowledge in regulatory requirements. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and develop process engineering individuals across multiple technologies for liquids, solids and semi-solids pharmaceutical products, fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. 

  • Drive the development, scale-up, and implementation of breakthrough process technologies aligned with business strategy and long-term manufacturing roadmaps. 

  • Provide technical leadership in machine-material interactions, translating scientific and engineering insights into robust, efficient, and scalable manufacturing solutions. 

  • Collaborate with strategic suppliers, technology partners, and cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and deploy emerging technologies that enhance manufacturing capability and competitiveness. 

  • Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations to ensure new products and raw materials are designed for manufacturability, quality, cost optimization, compliance, and operational excellence. 

  • Lead technology transfer, industrialization, and commercialization activities, ensuring successful transition from development to full-scale manufacturing. 

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute machine trials, pilot plant studies, and manufacturing runs for New Product Introductions (NPI) and Life Cycle Management (LCM) initiatives. 

  • Provide governance and oversight for capital projects, technical documentation, GCC approvals, IQ/OQ/PQ activities, TRATs, technical drawings, and change management processes. 

  • Act as the technical authority for product, process, and equipment changes, supporting audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities. 

  • Drive process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reliability, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness. 

  • Lead scientific investigations, root cause analyses, and technical assessments, supporting deviation management, CAPA implementation, and continuous improvement programs. 

  • Develop and maintain protocols, test methods, specifications, validation documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures in compliance with GxP and applicable regulatory requirements. 

  • Represent the region in strategic planning discussions, including Three-Year Operating Plan (3YOP) activities, while partnering closely with Global Development and Innovation teams. 

  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, building organizational capabilities and promoting best practices adoption. 

What we are looking for: 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Materials, Manufacturing, or related field). 

  • Experience in Product Development, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrialization, or related technical functions. 

  • Experience working with pharmaceutical products or similar manufacturing technologies. 

  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), Lifecycle Management (LCM), technology transfer, process optimization, or continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and structured problem-solving skills. 

  • Experience leading projects and collaborating across cross-functional teams. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Experience in technical writing, cGMP´s, ANVISA / COFEPRIS / FDA / ICH regulations. 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing, or a related technical field. 

  • Knowledge of statistical tools and methodologies, including Minitab, JMP, Design of Experiments (DOE), and data analysis techniques. 

  • Experience with validation activities, GxP environments, quality systems, CAPA, and change management processes. 

  • Familiarity with process industrialization, automation, and emerging manufacturing technologies. 

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across functions and organizational levels. 

  • Experience working in regional or global organizations.
