What You Will Do

The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is currently looking for a Systems Engineer I to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) department. The MDS department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people, processes, technology and performance. This position is on site in Woburn, MA.

You will be working as part of a team to define radar system requirements, design architectures and algorithms in support of those requirements and collaborate with software development teams to ensure effective implementation. Some specific responsibilities:

• Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements.
• Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions.
• Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance.
• Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers, internal leadership and external customers.
• Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date
• Experience with Matlab, C/C++, Java, or DOORS.
• Experience with systems analysis, algorithms, requirements development, and/or signal processing techniques.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
• Analytic, technical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with system level requirements development, documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture.
• Experience with radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance.
• Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
