ABOUT THE ROLE

The Subcontracts Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for service contracts (e.g. EPC, O&M, engineering). You will lead supplier selection, competitive sourcing events, negotiations, contract development, and supplier relationship management to achieve cost, quality, risk, and performance objectives. The Supply Chain Manager, Subcontracts serves as the strategic owner of assigned categories and partners closely with business leaders to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop and implement comprehensive category management strategies that align with organizational objectives, project pipelines, operational requirements, market conditions, and long-term business growth initiatives while balancing cost, quality, risk, and supplier capability considerations.
  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives, translating business requirements into commercial evaluation, contract negotiation, supplier selection, and implementation strategies that deliver value while advancing long-term business objectives.
  • Build and maintain deep knowledge of assigned supplier markets, industry trends, supply chain constraints, pricing dynamics, geopolitical influences, and emerging technologies to proactively identify opportunities and risks impacting the organization.
  • Structure, lead, and execute competitive sourcing events, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and supplier negotiations, utilizing data-driven evaluation methodologies to optimize commercial outcomes and supplier performance.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, master service agreements, statements of work, purchase agreements, and associated contract terms to maximize business value while appropriately allocating commercial, operational, legal, and performance-related risks.
  • Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships, partnering with key suppliers to improve performance, enhance service delivery, increase innovation, and create mutually beneficial long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, operations, finance, legal, IT, and executive stakeholders to understand business priorities, develop sourcing strategies, and ensure procurement decisions support organizational goals, timelines, deliverables, and quality.
  • Evaluate supplier performance by establishing metrics and key performance indicators. Drive continuous improvement to build robust processes that establish durable capability while driving accountability, internally and externally, to improve supplier effectiveness and reduce operational risk.
  • Identify and execute cost optimization, process improvement, standardization, and value-creation initiatives that improve total cost of ownership and deliver measurable business impact across assigned categories.
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees through effective hiring, training, and mentorship, fostering an environment where individuals can leverage their unique strengths to achieve their full potential and deliver meaningful value to the organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, business, finance, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, contract management, or related, including;
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy.
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies that align supplier capabilities with business objectives, operational requirements, and market conditions.
    • Ability to lead supplier evaluations, competitive sourcing events, and contract negotiations that deliver value and support long-term business needs.
    • Ability to analyze market trends, pricing dynamics, and supplier capabilities to support strategic sourcing decisions.
    • Ability to build and manage strategic supplier relationships that improve performance, service delivery, and overall business outcomes.
    • Ability to assess and mitigate commercial, operational, and supply chain risks while supporting organizational objectives.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead highly effective teams, both internally and externally.
    • Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Travel: 10%
