WHO YOU ARE 

This Darwin-based role is responsible for the planning, coordination, supervision, and delivery of structural works for a major high-rise student accommodation project.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry, Concreting, Civil Construction, Construction, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Foreman, Structural Foreman, Site Supervisor, or similar role on commercial construction projects
  • Demonstrated experience delivering structural packages on multi-storey commercial or high-rise developments
  • Strong understanding of structural construction methodologies, including formwork, reinforcement, concrete, post-tensioning, and structural steel
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors, labour resources, and site productivity
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, engineering details, specifications, and construction programmes
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation, quality systems, and HSEQ requirements
  • Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to site management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software is highly regarded

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all structural construction activities, including concrete, formwork, reinforcement, post-tensioning, and structural steel works where applicable
  • Drive floor cycles, key milestones, and critical path activities to ensure structural programme requirements are achieved
  • Work closely with the Site Manager and Project Engineers to develop and deliver short-term and look-ahead programmes
  • Monitor progress against programme and proactively identify and address delays, risks, and productivity constraints
  • Coordinate the sequencing of structural works to support efficient handover to subsequent trades and project stages
  • Manage and coordinate structural subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme, quality, and safety requirements
  • Coordinate labour, plant, equipment, materials, tower crane operations, concrete pours, and site logistics to maintain productivity and workflow
  • Conduct pre-pour inspections, manage quality hold points, and ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and inspection records are maintained
  • Inspect structural works to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, engineering requirements, and construction tolerances
  • Identify and resolve defects, non-conformances, and quality issues, ensuring timely rectification and close-out
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all structural works activities
  • Ensure compliance with DCOH HSEQ procedures, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), permits, and project-specific safety requirements
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations, and toolbox meetings
  • Develop effective working relationships with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and key stakeholders
  • Mentor and support Leading Hands and site personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
