Job Description Summary

Responsible for efficiently managing the receipt, storage, identification, issuance, and movement of materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring smooth coordination with internal departments and SEZ authorities.

Job Description

Material Inward

  • Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, specifications, and supporting documents.
  • Inspect materials for any visible damage or discrepancies and report issues to the concerned department.

Coordination with SEZ Gate Entries

  • Coordinate with the SEZ security/gate team for material entry and exit formalities.
  • Ensure required documents and approvals are available for smooth movement of materials.

Material Stocking

  • Arrange and store materials systematically in designated locations.
  • Ensure proper utilization of storage space and maintain good housekeeping within the stores area.

Material Tagging

  • Properly tag and identify materials with relevant item codes, descriptions, quantities, and other required details.
  • Ensure materials are easily traceable and identifiable.

Material Issuance

  • Issue materials against authorized material requisitions or approved documents.
  • Maintain accurate records of all material issues and ensure proper authorization.

Material Reconsolidation

  • Reconcile physical stock with system/register records on a regular basis.
  • Identify and report stock discrepancies, shortages, or excess quantities to the concerned personnel.

Material Log Book Maintenance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date stores log books and material movement records.
  • Record material inward, outward, issuance, returns, and other relevant transactions.

Material Loading and Unloading

  • Coordinate and supervise activities related to loading and unloading of materials.
  • Ensure materials are handled safely and stored at the appropriate locations.

Other Stores-Related Activities

  • Support periodic physical stock verification and inventory counting.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping, safety, and organization within the stores.
  • Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and other departments as required.
  • Perform other stores and inventory-related duties assigned by the reporting manager.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Good knowledge of store and inventory management.
  • Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with ERP/store management systems.
  • Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to identify, organize, and track materials effectively.
  • Good coordination and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of material handling and workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to work systematically and maintain inventory accuracy.
