Job Summary

The Staff Software Engineer is responsible to work as part of a cross-functional team in an Agile environment and translate business challenges into effective software solutions. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, configuring, and deploying high-quality software, developing test strategies, and creating cloud environments to support the development process. Oversees full stack development initiatives throughout the SDLC, advancing frontend, backend, and UI/UX components. The role ensures that all software delivery is secure, reliable, and highly automated to support seamless and efficient financial technology systems.


 

Essential Job Functions

  • Leverage the SDLC to build and enhance scalable, secure financial technology solutions. Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and application code. Develop design specifications, including user interface layouts, and convert them into functional, high-quality components. Provide technical on-call support and respond to incident inquires as needed - (15%)
  • Create and execute unit tests to proactively identify and resolve issues. Conduct code reviews to identify and remediate defects, ensuring adherence to coding standards. Estimate and size work efforts based on high-level requirements and continuously improve applications for quality, efficiency, and user experience - (15%)
  • Lead the design and development of software solutions, aligning with business goals. Oversee the full software lifecycle, ensuring quality and timeliness. Provide technical leadership, promote best practices, and mentor the team - (15%)
  • Enhance system performance through refactoring and modern frameworks. Lead code reviews and enforce testing practices. Resolve high-impact defects and bottlenecks to ensure reliability and robustness - (15%)
  • Drive UI/UX improvements for intuitive interfaces. Collaborate with teams to enhance user experience. Gather and analyze feedback to refine usability and align with business objectives - (15%)
  • Cultivate relationships across engineering, product, and business teams to enhance collaboration and efficiency. Provide coaching and constructive feedback to peers, both formally and informally. Foster a high-performing, inclusive environment by influencing and motivating the team to achieve business goals. Incorporate feedback to drive personal and team development - (15%)
  • Proficient in at least two programming languages, ideally three, and contribute to the development or maintenance of multiple applications. Operate autonomously, providing mentorship to peers while showcasing strong business knowledge in financial technology and payments domains. Lead and influence cross-team and enterprise-wide initiatives driving alignment, scalability, and technical direction. - (10%)


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience.
  • 8-10 years of work experience in related field (Software Development Life Cycle across Full Stack, Frontend and Backend Development and UI / UX engineering).


Preferred Qualifications

  • 10-13 years of work experience in related field (Software Development Life Cycle across Full Stack, Frontend and Backend Development and UI / UX engineering).
