We’re actively seeking a talented Senior Systems Analyst I to join our CMD Tech Communications team in Newport Beach, CA.  This role is hybrid of 4 days in office and 1 day per week remote.  The salary grade for this position will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

As a Senior Systems Analyst I you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by supporting customer communications for annuity and life product sales on our Customer Communication Management (CCM) platforms. Your colleagues will include analysts, developers, and QA and you will work closely with technologists across the organization and business partners such as key account managers.

How you’ll help move us forward:

  • Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to gather, document, analyze, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements supporting correspondence applications and services.
  • Support Agile product teams by refining backlogs, writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, facilitating requirement discussions, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage requirements, user stories, defects, testing activities, and delivery tracking while maintaining traceability throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support business-as-usual operations through incident triage, production support analysis, defect management, root cause investigation, and coordination of issue resolution activities.
  • Analyze business processes and system functionality to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and develop scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer communications delivery.
  • Collaborate with development, quality engineering, infrastructure, and vendor teams to support releases, system upgrades, maintenance activities, regulatory changes, and ongoing application modernization initiatives.

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Technical Business Analyst supporting enterprise applications.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, user story development, acceptance criteria definition, and support of user acceptance testing.
  • Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage requirements, user stories, features, defects, testing activities, and delivery tracking.
  • Experience eliciting, documenting, and validating business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Experience supporting production applications, including incident management, defect analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, testing practices, and change management processes.
  • Experience creating business process flows, use cases, user stories, functional specifications, and test scenarios.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience supporting Customer Communications Management (CCM) platforms such as Quadient Inspire, OpenText Exstream, Smart Communications, or similar correspondence technologies.
  • Knowledge of life insurance and annuities products.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps reporting, dashboards, PI Planning, dependency management, and Agile metrics.
  • Experience working within Agile Release Trains (ARTs), SAFe environments, or large-scale Agile transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with document composition, correspondence generation, print and mail workflows, digital delivery, and customer communication processes.
  • Familiarity with SQL, APIs, XML, JSON, and systems integration concepts.
  • Experience supporting application modernization initiatives, platform migrations, or large-scale technology transformation programs.
