About the Role & Team

Disney's Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) organization oversees the Disney+ and Hulu streaming businesses within Disney Entertainment, bringing The Walt Disney Company's world-class storytelling to a growing global audience.

Within DTC, the Content Strategy, Planning & Analysis (CSP&A) team sits within the Content Planning & Partnerships organization and serves as the center of excellence for content investment strategy, portfolio planning, content valuation, forecasting, and performance measurement. The team partners closely with Content Partnerships, Finance, DTC Strategy, Analytics, Research, Marketing, Programming, and Operations teams to provide data-driven recommendations that shape content investment decisions and maximize business impact.

The Senior Manager, Content Strategy, Planning & Analysis will lead content valuation and performance analysis for Disney+'s global licensed content portfolio. This role combines strategic thinking, financial acumen, advanced analytics, and people leadership to evaluate content investments, assess performance, and develop actionable insights that inform future acquisition and programming decisions. What You Will Do

  • Lead content valuation and performance assessment for Disney+'s global licensed content portfolio.
  • Develop strategic recommendations and investment frameworks that guide content acquisition and programming decisions.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Content Partnerships and DTC leadership to deliver insights on content performance and portfolio strategy.
  • Translate complex data and consumer viewing behaviors into actionable business recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement of content valuation methodologies, forecasting models, performance measurement frameworks, and reporting tools.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of analysts while fostering collaboration and analytical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain, and enhance methodologies, KPIs, and frameworks used to evaluate content investments and business performance.
  • Develop financial models, performance forecasts, and valuation analyses to support acquisition and renewal decisions.
  • Analyze and contextualize content performance using consumption, engagement, and business metrics.
  • Create content performance projections, benchmarking analyses, and strategic business cases to support content investment decisions.
  • Lead executive-level reporting and presentations that communicate key findings, recommendations, and portfolio performance.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize content investment strategies and maximize return on investment.
  • Design and improve scalable processes, workflows, and reporting solutions across the content planning and valuation lifecycle.
  • Manage complex cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of departmental leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Content Partnerships, Finance, Strategy, Analytics, Research, Marketing, Programming, and Operations.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members while ensuring high-quality analytical deliverables and professional growth.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in strategy, finance, consulting, media, entertainment, technology, or a related analytical field.
  • Prior people leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills with a track record of influencing business decisions through data-driven insights.
  • Advanced financial modeling and quantitative analysis capabilities.
  • Experience leveraging consumer behavior, audience insights, and performance data to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Expertise in synthesizing large, complex datasets into clear business narratives and actionable recommendations.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior executives.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within highly matrixed organizations and cross-functional environments.
  • High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to analytical rigor.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, collaboration skills, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in streaming, digital media, entertainment, or direct-to-consumer businesses.
  • Background in content strategy, content planning, content valuation, or media portfolio management.
  • Familiarity with consumer viewing behavior, content performance measurement, and audience analytics.
  • Experience developing executive-facing presentations and strategic recommendations.
  • Passion for television, film, streaming content, and the evolving media landscape.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to challenge conventional thinking and develop innovative solutions.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Media, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $168,200.00 - $205,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
