SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

In this role, you will manage and execute daily purchasing activities in line with Group Purchasing (GP) policies, supporting the Purchasing Manager to ensure timely and efficient sourcing of Raw Materials, Purchased Finished Goods, and Direct Packaging Materials. By working closely with internal stakeholders and the GP team, you will help ensure supply continuity, compliance, and dependable delivery performance, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and business success.

This role is based in Ranjangaon, Pune and reports to the Purchase Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive purchasing and supply planning in close coordination with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory targets.

  • Act as the primary operational interface with Group Purchasing (GP) Category Managers for raw material, purchase finished goods, and direct packaging material, managing requirements, supplier performance, shortages, and non-conformances.

  • Optimize sourcing and logistics by assessing packaging configurations, lot sizes, transportation modes, import processes, customs compliance, permits, licenses, and evolving trade regulations.

  • Manage end-to-end import operations and international logistics, ensuring compliance with trade terms, customs procedures, and uninterrupted material availability.

  • Own supplier management activities, including supplier identification, negotiations, performance evaluation, invoice control, regulatory compliance, and on-time payments.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Customer Service, Production, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless supply execution, continuous improvement, and timely reporting to the Purchasing Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in raw material purchasing, supply chain operations, and import processes, including customs and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills; proficient in English, advanced Excel, and ERP/SAP systems.
