Responsibilities / Tasks

Objective of role:

  • To execute localization projects by transferring global design expertise to Indian cluster and driving end‑to‑end execution of component‑level design through effective planning, coordination, and monitoring.
  • The role ensures timely completion of design and technology transfer with ownership, design deliverables by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining project schedules, managing documentation, and supporting design leads in achieving project objectives.

Key Responsibility includes (but not limited to):

  • Learn and transfer design technology [know how] for different components which can be designed, engineered and made locally for Indian clusters.
  • Develop core engineering design skill set in team to take up any design opportunities and or challenges.  
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones for component knowledge transfer process.
  • Participates in project kick-offs, ensuring clarity on scope, schedule, objectives, end deliverables.
  • Maintain and monitor project schedules using approved planning tools.
  • Act as the primary design coordination link between CTC, Engineering, Project, Procurement, Manufacturing and Quality departments.
  • Maintain all design-related documents, trackers, transmittals, and change request logs.
  • Identify risks in workflows, resources interfaces and support issue resolution.
  • Conduct a VAVE for every objective/component/task to achieve.
  • Maintain quality checks in design ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Ensure completion of all design deliverables and assist in project closure activities.
  • Creating 3D models and 2D drawings of various products on the given GEA technology
  • Taking full accountability of own design drawings/models 
  • Time-manage multiple tasks and keep the recipient updated on progress
  • Flexible enough to cater new task bedsides design like engineering documentations etc.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical) or related technical discipline.
  • 7–12 years of experience in project execution within design/engineering environments.
  • Must have knowledge of different manufacturing process, welding technology, making of fabrication drawings includes good commend in welding symbols & surface treatment.
  • Good at CAD software [Autodesk Vault and Autodesk Inventor], PDM/PLM software, AutoCAD Plant 3D would be an added advantage.
  • Hands on experience ANSYS and or MATLAB along with core engineering knowledge about different design and material and standards like FDA,3A, ANSI, DIN, ISO, ASTM, ASME is preferable.
  • Skills of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), Systems Engineering and Integration

Product Development Lifecycle Management, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Value analysis and Value engineering [VAVE] is preferable.

  • Experience in EPC, manufacturing, or engineering services preferred.
  • Ability to read & understand Equipment specification, P&ID information & Engineering drawings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner, Power BI)

  • Willingness to continuously learn on job.
  • Since GEA is highly international and work required to collaborate with GEA colleagues globally, Fluency in English skill – Verbal and written is mandatory.
