As a Sr Associate in Finance at Amgen, you'll provide crucial support in financial management including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. You'll work closely with the finance manager and other team members to help make informed financial decisions.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Providing financial support to various company functions with monthly/quarterly expense forecasting and cost per unit (CPU)/cost of goods manufactured (COGM)
  • Raw Materials, Purchase price variance, consumables and freight analysis.
  • Annual budgeting and long-range planning.
  • SAP Standard cost development and material master setup for make items and raw materials.
  • Variance analyses and other ad-hoc support.
  • Performs monthly or quarterly functional financial forecasting.
  • Leads month-end accounting and reporting process.
  • Provides recommendations and communicates implications based on analysis of deviation from budget.
  • Develop performance measurements used to support management reporting and cost analysis.
  • Facilitate business planning and decision-making and the modeling of various financial scenarios.
  • Conduct business studies on current, future and comparative financial performance and develop analytical models.
  • Support transformational initiatives through automation and financial processes and reporting improvements using tools like Tableau and Smartsheet
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support site objectives as required.

Additional assignments include but not limited to special projects support for business clients and FP&A leadership and internal/external audit assistance.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance or related fields

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, and manufacturing industry
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and present results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Standard costing and capital planning experience.
  • Experience with SAP or other large ERP and consolidation tools and Hyperion planning system
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office systems, particularly Excel and Power Point and visualization tools
  • Ability to multi-task and lead priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Strong teammate with the ability to collaborate with colleagues on complex assignments

Prior work experience in biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry experience
