About the role

An exciting position has opened up for a qualified Electrician who has a passion for quality to join our Sustainable Business Energy Solutions division. As one of Australia’s largest commercial solar providers, we take our mission seriously, leading Australia’s transition to a low-carbon economy.

Working with a team of exceptional engineers and contractors, as a Field Services Technician you will be responsible for undertaking on-site Quality Assurance & HSE monitoring activities such as pre-installation Site Inspections, Quality Auditing, HSE auditing, reactive service calls, Site Supervision, and maintenance inspections across the state.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian laws, regulations, standards, permits and codes, and acting as the electrical licence holder and/or technical nominee with regulators.
  • Drive efficient operational processes and continuous improvement by actively maintaining and enhancing the Integrated Management System, incorporating lessons learned from field activities.
  • Lead and support safe, high‑quality solar installation and maintenance activities.
  • Undertake on‑site activities such as pre‑sales inspections, tender meetings, routine O&M inspections, incident and outage response.
  • Engage with clients, contractors and internal teams, support the development and implementation of HSE and quality procedures.
  • Ensure contractor engagement and project activities are conducted in line with AGL’s contractor management framework.
  • Support strong safety and quality outcomes by assisting with incident and near‑miss investigations, driving timely close‑out of corrective actions

About you

You are licensed A-Grade Electrician with proven experience related to Solar PV installations. Your adaptability & willingness to learn & develop will help you succeed in this role.
In addition to the above you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience with commercial scale rooftop solar & battery installations.
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to engage people at all levels of the organisation.
  • High level of attention to detail including sound troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to travel to AGL Solar sites & interstate as required by the role. 
  • SAA accreditations are highly regarded.
