Job Summary
As a Software Test Engineer II on the Digital Signage Platform team, you will be part of a cross-functional engineering team building and maintaining Poppulo's next-generation Digital Signage platform. The platform powers content management, scheduling, integrations, media delivery, analytics and reporting across thousands of customer deployments.
Working within an Agile, DevOps-oriented environment, you will help ensure high quality software through automation, exploratory testing, API validation, risk-based testing and continuous improvement. You will work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Software Engineers and DevOps Engineers to deliver reliable, scalable and secure SaaS solutions.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about modern Quality Engineering practices who enjoys building automation, improving delivery pipelines and contributing to a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Validate quality across Digital Signage platform capabilities including:
- Content Repository
- Content Design
- Scheduling
- Device & Player Management
- Integrations
- Reporting & Analytics
- Design, execute and maintain functional, integration and regression tests.
- Develop and maintain automated tests at the appropriate layers including: API, Service, UI, Data Validation
- Contribute to automation frameworks using Playwright/Selenium and modern testing practices.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering and UX to define clear acceptance criteria and identify quality risks early.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement and story reviews to ensure testability.
- Troubleshoot defects across cloud-based services using AWS tools such as: CloudWatch, DynamoDB, MySQL, S3, CloudFront, IoT Core
- Support CI/CD pipelines by maintaining reliable automated regression suites within GitLab.
- Perform exploratory testing and participate in collaborative quality activities including bug bashes and release validation.
- Contribute to non-functional testing including performance, scalability and reliability testing.
- Analyse production telemetry, logs and monitoring data to assist with defect investigation and quality improvements.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to improve productivity in test creation, log analysis, documentation and defect investigation while ensuring appropriate review and validation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of team quality practices and automation standards.
Technical Skills / Experience
Required
- 5+ years of Software Testing / Quality Engineering experience.
- Experience testing modern SaaS or cloud-native applications.
- Strong experience with: API Testing, UI Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing
- Hands-on automation experience using Playwright/Selenium.
- Experience with REST APIs and API testing tools.
- Familiarity with Java or TypeScript.
- Experience using GitLab or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud services.
- Understanding of Agile software development and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with: CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
- Experience testing distributed systems or event-driven architectures.
- Performance or load testing experience.
- Experience writing SQL queries and validating data.
- Familiarity with: ECS, EKS, Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts.
- Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, GitLab Duo or similar to support testing and development activities.
- Knowledge of Digital Signage technologies or media delivery platforms.
- Experience with test data management or synthetic data generation.
