The Role – Software Engineer II

We’re looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team and contribute to building reliable, scalable, and user-focused software. In this role, you’ll work independently on well-defined features, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and help improve the quality and maintainability of our systems. You’ll play an active role in delivering value to users while continuing to grow your technical and collaborative skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, and maintain small to medium-sized systems or features with a focus on quality, reliability and user impact
  • Work with product managers, designers and engineers to understand requirements and turn them into practical technical solutions
  • Communicate clearly about progress, assumptions, blockers and technical trade-offs
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and reviews
  • Write clear, maintainable and well-tested code that follows team standards
  • Work within established architecture patterns while identifying sensible improvements to existing systems
  • Debug and resolve issues across the stack, investigating root causes and seeking support when needed
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and incorporating feedback into your own work
  • Identify opportunities to improve code quality, performance, and team development practices
  • Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted tools, while remaining accountable for reviewing and validating the result

Qualifications:

  • Experience developing software and maintaining software in a professional or comparable environment
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language and familiarity with modern development frameworks and tools
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals (e.g., data structures, APIs, testing, version control)
  • Ability to work independently on defined tasks while seeking input when needed
  • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teammates and incorporating feedback
  • Problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and iterate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience contributing to technical designs and documenting technical decisions
  • Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures and workflow orchestration
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve coding, debugging, documentation and testing workflows
  • Practical experience in debugging production issues and improving system performance
  • Exposure to working in agile or iterative development environments
  • Experience writing automated tests and working with CI/CD pipelines
  • Interest in sharing knowledge and supporting teammates
  • Experience with technologies used in our current stack (Rust, Kotlin, Spring Boot, TypeScript, NextJS, PostgreSQL, Pulsar, Temporal and Kubernetes)

Our benefits include health insurance, skills training and much more, depending on the location.
