  • Break down complex product requirements into clear technical designs and executable work, guiding teams from concept through delivery.
  • Act as a technical leader and role model within the team, setting high standards for code quality, testing, reliability, and operational excellence.

  • Partner closely with product managers and designers to influence roadmap decisions, balancing customer value, technical health, and long-term sustainability.
  • Listen to the customer and elevate their experience. CSAT, NPS, feedback, and metrics are their voice — drive investigations, identify root causes, and lead impactful improvements.
  • Optimise — champion effective use of AI tools across the team to improve productivity, accelerate delivery, and focus effort on the most complex engineering challenges.
  • Lead by example — bring curiosity, accountability, and positivity, helping foster a culture of ownership, learning, and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years of professional software development experience or experience, delivering high-quality, production-grade software in complex environments.
  • Technical Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading architecture and design discussions, influencing technical direction, and driving alignment across teams.
  • Engineering Excellence: Deep programming and system design expertise, with the ability to evaluate trade-offs and make sound technical decisions.
  • Problem Solving: Proven ability to lead a structured, scientific, and creative approach to solving complex technical and product challenges.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers, product partners, and stakeholders at varying levels.
  • Quality Focus: A strong commitment to quality, including test strategy definition, code reviews, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Full stack development, in some or all of the following areas:
    • Languages: TypeScript/JavaScript, Java
    • UI Frameworks: React or Angular
    • Back-end: Java (Spring), RESTful APIs, WebSockets, distributed systems, and API design
    • Database: Postgres/AWS Aurora
  • Proven experience scaling systems to handle growing traffic, data volume, and user load, including horizontal scaling, caching, and load balancing.
  • Significant experience contributing to or owning system architecture for large-scale, customer-facing applications.
  • Strong experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, including contract testing and test automation in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical experience or strong interest in AI-assisted development, including hands-on use of LLM-based tools for design exploration, scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, debugging, and improving developer productivity — with strong ownership of validated, production-ready solutions.
