R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem. Our common goal at KONE is to keep the end users safe and people flow uninterrupted. KONE moves 2 billion people every day and that means our services can really make cities better places to live

Role Summary:
The Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining frontend and backend software components as part of a full-stack development team. The role involves implementation of product features, defect resolution, integration support, testing, and continuous improvement of application quality.

The Software Developer works closely with senior developers, QA, product teams, and other engineering stakeholders while progressively developing independent ownership of software modules and technical deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain frontend and backend application functionality.
  • Implement product features using React JS, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Develop and integrate REST APIs and application services.
  • Understand software requirements and translate them into technical implementations.
  • Perform unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
  • Support application integration and system validation activities.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards.
  • Collaborate with senior developers, QA, DevOps, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support investigation and resolution of application issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation related to implemented features.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint activities, and task estimation.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of product architecture, technologies, and development practices.
  • Gradually take independent ownership of assigned modules and features.
  • Contribute to application quality, maintainability, and continuous improvement activities.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of React JS and frontend development.
  • Knowledge of Node.js and backend development.
  • Understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Understanding of REST APIs and web application development.
  • Basic knowledge of databases and data handling.
  • Familiarity with Git and source-control practices.
  • Understanding of debugging and software testing practices.
  • Basic knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodology.
