Site Systems Engineering Lead

Advanced Mining Technology Division is seeking an experienced Site Systems Engineering Lead responsible for leading system-level requirements definition, integration planning, validation governance, and lifecycle traceability for end-to-end site technology solutions across complex operational environments. This role provides technical leadership to ensure solution readiness, interoperability, and engineering consistency across machine, office, digital, and platform product teams.

The Site Systems Engineering Lead collaborates closely with product teams, program leaders, validation teams, and business stakeholders to ensure system requirements, interfaces, verification plans, and validation evidence are clearly defined, aligned, and maintained throughout the solution lifecycle. The role is accountable for driving requirements traceability, managing cross-team dependencies, supporting technical decision-making, and ensuring delivered capabilities meet customer, operational, and business objectives.

This position plays a critical role in New Product Introduction (NPI) programs by guiding requirements development, coordinating integration and validation activities, managing technical risks, and ensuring delivery of key engineering milestones. The lead provides technical direction and mentorship to site system engineers, fosters cross-functional collaboration, and drives continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methodologies, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead system-level requirements definition, decomposition, integration planning, and validation governance for end-to-end site technology solutions.

  • Establish and maintain systems engineering practices, interface definition, requirements traceability, verification planning, and validation evidence across programs and product portfolios.

  • Drive system-level requirements for development, decomposition, traceability, and validation activities throughout the solution lifecycle.

  • Provide technical leadership in managing ambiguity, resolving complex system engineering challenges, and balancing competing stakeholder requirements.

  • Collaborate with product teams, validation teams, and program leadership to ensure cohesive system integration, clear requirements alignment, and timely engineering delivery.

  • Support Site Systems Tech Lead/Program Manager by defining technical roadmaps, managing technical risks, tracking engineering deliverables, and communicating program status and driving closure with accountable teams.

  • Mentor and guide systems engineers, promoting engineering excellence and adoption of systems engineering best practices.

  • Influence strategic direction for site-level systems engineering practices and ensure alignment with platform and business objectives.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency, requirement quality, integration readiness, and validation effectiveness.

  • Drive AI in Product initiatives through roadmap creation and execution

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ Years of experience in software engineering

  • Demonstrated experience defining and managing system requirements across complex, multi-team product environments.

  • Proven ability to define system interfaces, drive integration strategies, and influence technical alignment across machine, office, digital, and platform products.

  • Extensive experience recognizing, anticipating, and resolving complex cross team integration problems.

  • Ability to apply engineering judgment with incomplete data, competing priorities, and long-term consequences, while driving alignment on interfaces and validation approach.

  • Hands-on experience with systems engineering practices and tools used to define, manage, and validate complex solutions, including requirements management, interface control, traceability, verification planning, and validation evidence.

  • Ability to select and apply appropriate tools based on problem context rather than tool familiarity alone.

  • Use AI to perform day to day business functions including but not limited to requirement definitions, program coordination and team engagement

  • Experience operating within Agile / SAFe environments, ensuring system engineering inputs are reflected in planning.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
