About the Role
At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Shopify Web Developer / Store Builder to build, customize, and maintain premium Shopify storefronts for B2B clients while leading the complete redesign of the company’s primary website.
This is a hands-on development role focused on creating high-performing, visually polished, responsive, and conversion-optimized Shopify stores. You’ll work across custom theme development, front-end implementation, product and collection configuration, third-party integrations, performance optimization, and eCommerce UX.
You’ll also collaborate closely with designers to translate Figma designs into fully functional Shopify experiences using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

What You’ll Own
Shopify Store Development
- Build Shopify storefronts from the ground up using client branding and design assets
- Develop premium B2B and eCommerce storefront experiences
- Customize Shopify themes to meet specific brand and business requirements
- Configure and maintain:
- Product catalogs
- Collections
- Inventory
- Store settings
- Build responsive experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Ensure storefronts are fast-loading, reliable, and production-ready
- Maintain consistent quality across multiple Shopify builds
Website Redesign & Optimization
- Lead the complete redesign and rebrand of the company’s primary Shopify website
- Translate updated brand direction into a modern digital experience

- Implement modern web and eCommerce design standards
- Maintain brand consistency throughout the redesign

Shopify Theme Customization & Development
- Develop and customize Shopify themes using:
- Liquid
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- Build custom functionality where standard Shopify features are insufficient
- Implement functionality including:
- Access controls
- Gated collections
- Gift codes
- Purchase restrictions
- Configure Shopify applications or custom logic to support business requirements
- Integrate third-party Shopify applications
- Troubleshoot theme and storefront issues
- Maintain clean and scalable front-end code
eCommerce UX & Conversion Optimization
- Apply eCommerce UX best practices throughout development
- Optimize customer journeys and purchasing experiences
- Identify opportunities to reduce friction and improve conversions
- Ensure storefronts follow responsive design principles
- Improve page performance and usability
- Balance visual design with functionality and conversion objectives
- Help create storefront experiences that feel premium while remaining easy to navigate
Collaboration & Project Management
- Collaborate with designers to translate Figma designs into functional Shopify storefronts
- Work closely with internal teams throughout development and launch
- Manage multiple Shopify builds simultaneously
- Maintain quality while working across competing priorities and deadlines
- Communicate project progress, dependencies, and blockers through Slack
- Provide clear updates to cross-functional stakeholders
- Take ownership of projects from initial build through launch and optimization
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience
- Strong proficiency in Shopify Liquid
- Advanced front-end development skills using:
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- Experience building custom Shopify themes or performing extensive theme customization
- Proven experience leading complete website redesign or rebranding projects
- Strong understanding of:
- eCommerce UX
- Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)
- Responsive design
- Mobile optimization
- Experience managing:
- Product catalogs
- Collections
- Inventory
- Shopify store configurations
- Portfolio showcasing modern, high-quality Shopify storefronts
- Strong attention to visual quality and implementation detail
- Experience with:
- Slack
- Google Workspace
- Asynchronous communication
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Availability during U.S. business hours

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Throughout the day, you could collaborate with designers to implement new Figma layouts, configure products and collections, integrate third-party Shopify applications, or troubleshoot storefront functionality.
You’ll also optimize website performance, responsiveness, usability, and conversion paths while keeping the team updated on progress and blockers through Slack.
