At Ryan, we are on an exciting journey of growth, strengthening our Tax Advisory capabilities within an increasingly complex international environment. As part of this expansion, we are looking for a Senior Tax Advisor to join our team in Braga.

This role will primarily focus on indirect tax matters, particularly VAT, supporting both external and internal clients with timely, accurate and practical advisory services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technical advice, contributing to client engagements, supervising work delegated to junior colleagues, and supporting knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and prepare high quality technical tax advice, primarily in indirect tax matters, including VAT.
  • Support and supervise junior team members, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of work.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to managing ongoing client relationships.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and international partners where required.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives, including technical articles, legislative monitoring, and marketing activities.
  • Support commercial aspects of engagements, including fee proposals and client communications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Tax, Economics, Management, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written). French or Spanish would be a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in VAT, ideally within a tax advisory or consulting environment. Exposure to international or cross border matters is highly valued.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
