Overview
Payments Network Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support payment processing applications and customer integration solutions. The role combines hands-on Java development with automation and validation of end-to-end transaction flows across authorization, clearing, tokenization, and related payment network services.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and support Java-based applications and APIs for payment processing platforms.
• Build and maintain automated validation frameworks using Java, Cucumber, JUnit/TestNG, and API automation tools.
• Develop solutions supporting authorization, clearing, tokenization, settlement, and transaction processing workflows.
• Partner with customers, product teams, and engineers to support onboarding, integration testing, and production readiness.
• Create automated validation for ISO 8583 messages, transaction routing, response handling, and exception scenarios.
• Analyze defects, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive resolution across multiple systems and teams.
• Contribute to architecture, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Guide less-experienced engineers and independently own features from design through production support.
Essential Skills
• Strong software development experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Cucumber, JUnit/TestNG, Rest Assured, Selenium, or similar Java-based automation frameworks.
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
• Understanding of ISO 8583 messaging and payment transaction processing.
• Knowledge of authorization, clearing, tokenization, settlement, and payment lifecycle flows.
• Experience working directly with customers or integration partners.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Hands-on software engineer with experience delivering scalable, reliable applications.
• Experience combining application development with automation engineering.
• Strong understanding of software quality, testing strategies, and automation-first development practices.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments across the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to collaborate with globally distributed product, engineering, architecture, operations, and customer-facing teams.
• Experience applying AI-assisted engineering tools, including GitHub Copilot and Claude CLI.
• Payments or financial services experience, including customer onboarding and transaction processing, is preferred
