About this Senior Partnerships Specialist role at AlgaeCal
Can You Spot An Influencer Who’ll Actually Sell? You know that good partnerships don’t just “create buzz.” They drive revenue, build authority, and make competitors wonder how the heck you’re everywhere at once. You know how to build a scalable affiliate program where the right partners drive sales, the right experts build trust, and every campaign has the tracking and reporting to prove it.
If that sounds like you, you might have what it takes to be the Senior Partnerships Specialist at AlgaeCal.
Small Print ⇒ If you think influencer marketing is about collecting “likes” this role isn’t for you. We’re looking for someone who can build a performance-driven partnership ecosystem, manage creators and affiliates, negotiate smart deals, and sniff out wasted spend faster than a bloodhound chasing a runaway sausage cart.
This job will give you ALL the feels:
We create clinically supported, natural solutions for some of the biggest health challenges women over 40 face today. And your work will help more women discover those solutions. The creators, affiliates, and experts you bring into our world will help women find information they can trust, feel more confident in their choices, and take action on their health.
If that excites you, you’ll find no better place to continue your career than here.
This job might be for you if…
- You know how to find the right partners. A creator with 500,000 followers doesn’t automatically make your pulse race. You look at audience fit, engagement, credibility, brand alignment, and whether there’s a realistic path to revenue. You’re not here to collect vanity metrics. You’re here to build a pipeline of influencers, creators, affiliates, and healthcare experts who can actually perform.
- You’re comfortable working with performance data. ROAS, CAC, conversion rate, attributed revenue, and performance by partner aren’t things you leave for someone else to figure out. You know how to read the data, spot what’s working, kill what isn’t, and put more money behind the partnerships that deserve it.
- You know how to build strong relationships. Great partnerships aren’t built by firing over a contract and resurfacing three months later asking for a report. You know how to build trust, communicate clearly, create offers people actually want to say yes to, and keep good partners wanting to work with us again. From first conversation to signed agreement to live campaign to reporting, you know how to keep the whole thing moving.
- You understand how affiliate programs work. You’re not the kind of person who opens Impact and stares hopefully at the dashboard. You understand recruitment, activation, commission structures, incentives, optimization, and what it takes to turn a handful of affiliates into a real growth channel. Experience with Impact, Klear, GRIN, Shopify Affiliates, or similar platforms will definitely come in handy.
- You know how valuable the right expert can be. Healthcare professionals and science experts aren’t there to make the About Us page look impressive. The right expert can build trust, strengthen credibility, and make people pay attention. You know how to help find, nurture, and manage those relationships while keeping advisory agreements, expert content, and ongoing initiatives moving forward.
- You know how to make campaigns measurable. UTMs, GA4, attribution, affiliate links, conversion paths, dashboards—you want the plumbing in place before anyone hits publish. If a campaign launches and nobody can tell where the sales came from, you start developing an eye twitch. You can build clean tracking systems, spot reporting holes, and make sure every partnership has a clear line of sight to performance.
- You know how to manage a budget. You know when a creator is worth the fee, when the numbers don’t stack up, and when it’s time to negotiate harder, change the deal, or walk away. You pity the fools who throw five figures at an influencer because “their engagement looks really strong.”
- You know how to get campaigns over the finish line. Brief → negotiation → content → compliance → approvals → launch → tracking → reporting → optimization. You’ve managed the whole thing before. You can keep multiple campaigns moving at once, chase down loose ends without becoming everyone’s least favourite Slack notification, and make sure things actually launch on time.
- You keep an eye on the competition. Which creators are competitors using? What offers are they testing? What messages keep showing up? Who seems to be everywhere all of a sudden? You notice the patterns, find the gaps, and turn what you learn into better ideas for us. Not a 53-slide competitor deck that gets presented once and then quietly dies in Google Drive.
- You’re good at getting different people to work together. Creative, paid media, compliance, analytics, external partners—you can keep everyone aligned without turning every decision into a meeting about whether we need another meeting. You communicate clearly, keep momentum high, and generally make complicated things feel less complicated.
- You’ve got the experience to prove you can do all of the above. We’re looking for 3+ years in influencer marketing, affiliate management, partnerships, creator growth, or a similar role. Bonus points if you’ve worked in health, wellness, supplements, D2C, eCommerce, women’s health, or another category where credibility matters just as much as conversion.
Now, time to be honest… is this really you?
If you’re nodding your head and already thinking about which partners, systems, and campaign levers you’d tackle first, then we can’t wait to meet you.
Other Qualities You’ll Need
At AlgaeCal, we’re going to insist that you have these 3 qualities:
- You’re humble–you put the team and others’ needs ahead of your own
- You’re hungry to learn more
- You’re people-smart–in the sense that you’re a great teammate
The truth is, if you don’t have these qualities, you won’t last long at AlgaeCal. So if you’re missing one of them, be honest. Save yourself a lot of headaches and skip to a job posting that is a better fit for you.
What Will You Earn?
We believe in rewarding top talent. So let’s talk about salary once we’ve had the chance to get to know you better. Rest assured, we’re generous and offer above-market pay for the right person. If you bring the skills and experience, we’ll make sure the compensation reflects that.
You’ll also enjoy the following benefits:
- A generous healthcare package
- Monthly team events and activities
- Flexible Stat Holidays with the option to bank days for later use
- Weekly team lunches
- Casual dress code
- Incredible dog-friendly, Yaletown office one block from SkyTrain
And above all, you’ll join a team that you’ll never want to leave. Culture is everything to us. Yes, we work extremely hard to change as many people’s lives as possible. But we know how to have fun and reward ourselves too.
