About this Senior Merchant 2 - Global Pricing role at Arcteryx Com

Arcteryx Com · Hybrid · North Vancouver, BC (Corporate)

Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Senior Merchant 2 - Global Pricing, you will act as a driving force behind Arc’teryx’s Global Pricing Project – a cross-functional, executive-sponsored initiative to evolve how we set, govern, and execute pricing across our franchises, channels, and regions. Reporting to the SVP, Regional Merchandising, you help keep this high-stakes program on track, turning complex commercial questions into clear, well-supported recommendations that leadership can act on with confidence.

This role owns the execution and ongoing discipline focused on tracking, governance, and establishing the guidelines that keep pricing consistent over time. You help manage key gates and deliverables, coordinate work across multiple workstreams and teams, and prepare content for the steering committee and other key forums. You combine sharp analytical and critical-thinking skills with the program-management discipline to keep a complex, cross-functional initiative on track and well-governed.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Regional Merchandising team is responsible for delivering regional, seasonal product assortments that support the overall global product direction and regional business achievement. In partnership with the Product Line Management (PLM) team, Merchants drive company sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity goals, in both our wholesale and vertical channels. This team translates market and consumer insights into actionable product strategies, ensuring both global consistency and regional relevance.

Global pricing is a priority initiative within the function, bringing together cross-functional teams across the business to set a consistent, defensible global pricing strategy. We translate complex, ambiguous commercial problems into clear frameworks, data-driven recommendations, and executive decisions – connecting pricing to margin, volume, and brand positioning. This is a new role that will enable our global pricing initiatives to mature into a function centered on tracking, governance, guidelines, and continuous refinement.

If you were the Senior Merchant 2 - Global Pricing now, here are some of the core activities you would be:

  • Tracking progress against the project roadmap and key milestones, surfacing risks and dependencies early, and holding workstream owners accountable to timelines and quality
  • Helping establish and maintain pricing governance, guidelines, and operating standards, and monitoring pricing decisions are applied consistently across franchises, channels, and regions
  • Preparing content and recommendations for the Steering Committee and other key forums ensuring decisions are well-framed and easy to act on
  • Managing key gates and deliverables, and translating rough inputs: discussions, models, draft analyses into cohesive, decision-ready materials
  • Partnering with Merchandising, Finance, Commercial and Regional teams, Product, Planning, and Operations to align pricing strategy, assumptions, and execution
  • Coordinating inputs across workstreams, resolving open questions, and ensuring consistency in how pricing decisions are represented across teams and regions
  • Providing market insights on key regions, particularly China, to help shape pricing decisions by incorporating consumer behaviour, product demand, and competitive dynamics into the global pricing framework.
  • Serving as a trusted thought partner to the SVP, Merchandising and other senior leaders and helping structure problems, frame trade-offs, and drive alignment
  • Acting as a connective layer between analytical teams and decision-makers, ensuring the right people have the right information at the right time
  • Performing additional analysis using internal data (pricing, margin, elasticity, sell-through) and external sources (market, competitor, and macro pricing benchmarks) to pressure-test and strengthen recommendations
  • Building and refining models and frameworks: elasticity-adjusted volume, margin impact, scenario analysis – that make pricing trade-offs easy to understand and evaluate
  • Applying strong critical thinking and judgment to synthesize complex, sometimes ambiguous information into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Helping shape the long-term global pricing strategy and operating model, including governance, tools, and ways of working
  • Leading discrete workstreams or pricing initiatives end-to-end as the program scales across regions and franchises
  • Partnering with senior leaders on broader merchandising and commercial strategy questions beyond pricing
  • Are you our next Senior Merchant 2 - Global Pricing?

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience in finance, management consulting, corporate strategy, project/program management, or a related analytical field
  • You have a proven track record in managing complex, cross-functional projects and delivering high-quality work against tight timelines
  • You have strong financial and quantitative skills, and are comfortable working with large datasets, building models and drawing insights from internal and external data
  • You have experience preparing materials and recommendations for senior or executive audiences, such as steering committees and leadership reviews
  • You are a strong critical thinker with sound judgment, able to structure ambiguous problems and synthesize complex information quickly
  • You have strong program- and project-management discipline and are comfortable managing gates, milestones, dependencies, and multiple stakeholders
  • You have excellent cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills, and can build alignment across teams without direct authority
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills, and can distill complex analysis into clear, concise recommendations
  • You are highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and have familiarity with pricing, BI, or analytics tools
  • You have a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and executive presence
  • You are agile and adaptable, thriving in a fast-moving, evolving environment
  • You have a bias for action, strong ownership, and a drive for continuous improvement
  • Compensation:
