Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to lead strategic initiatives within the Aetna Transactional Cache (ATC) Program. This role will oversee delivery of large-scale enterprise data modernization efforts, including migration from MarkLogic to MongoDB Atlas on AWS, cloud platform enablement, application modernization, and enterprise data services transformation.

The successful candidate will drive execution across multiple technology and business teams while managing program roadmap, financials, governance, risks, dependencies, and executive communications. This role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to coordinate complex programs with significant business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of ATC initiatives, including MarkLogic-to-MongoDB migrations, cloud enablement, data platform modernization, and application onboarding.

  • Manage integrated program plans, milestones, schedules, dependencies, and critical path activities.

  • Coordinate delivery across engineering, architecture, infrastructure, DevOps, security, data, and business teams.

  • Drive successful execution of consumer cutovers, migration waves, platform readiness, and production deployments.

Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Facilitate executive governance forums, steering committees, L2/L3 reviews, and leadership updates.

  • Prepare executive-ready program status reports, dashboards, presentations, decision papers, and meeting materials.

  • Ensure alignment among business sponsors, product owners, architecture teams, and delivery organizations.

  • Escalate critical issues and drive timely resolution of risks and blockers.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Manage multi-million-dollar program budgets, forecasts, funding requests, and resource planning activities.

  • Track financial performance, budget variances, vendor spend, and capacity utilization.

  • Partner with finance and leadership teams to support annual planning, investment decisions, and business case development.

  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiencies.

Risk & Dependency Management

  • Establish and maintain program risk, issue, and dependency management processes.

  • Drive mitigation planning and resolution of cross-functional program challenges.

  • Ensure visibility of key program risks through leadership reporting and governance reviews.

Agile Delivery & PMO Excellence

  • Apply Agile, Scrum, and hybrid delivery methodologies across multiple workstreams.

  • Implement best practices for program management, reporting, metrics, and governance.

  • Track key performance indicators, delivery metrics, and value realization.

  • Support roadmap planning and prioritization activities.

Technical & Strategic Alignment

  • Partner with architects and engineering leaders to understand technical solutions and migration strategies.

  • Collaborate on cloud adoption, modernization roadmaps, API strategies, and data platform initiatives.

  • Contribute to strategic planning for enterprise data architecture and future-state capabilities.


Required Qualifications

• 8+ years project management experience

Preferred Qualifications
 

• Preferred consideration given to candidates with a healthcare background

• Preferred consideration given to candidates with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Teams

• Migration experience a plus

• Proficient in Powerpoint, Outlook

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects

• Ability to work independently

• High degree of attention to detail

Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $236,900.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
