Job Summary
Primary PurposeThe EMEA Payroll Manager is responsible for leading accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery across the EMEA region. The role oversees the full payroll cycle for hourly and salaried employees, including commissions and stock-related transactions, working across Workday and third-party payroll providers. Reporting to the Global Payroll Director, this leader will manage and develop the regional payroll team while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and business leaders.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end payroll operations across EMEA, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
• Manage, coach, and develop the EMEA payroll team, creating clear accountability and strong service standards.
• Oversee payroll processing through Workday and external payroll providers, including quarter-end and year-end activities.
• Maintain effective payroll governance, policies, processes, internal controls, and compliance with SOX, tax, audit, and local regulatory requirements.
• Provide expertise on complex payroll matters, including stock option taxation, payroll exceptions, and country-specific requirements.
• Partner with HR, Finance, business leaders, and payroll vendors to resolve issues and maintain operational alignment.
• Deliver recurring payroll reporting, ad hoc analysis, audit documentation, and controls testing support.
• Identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and continuously improve payroll processes across the region.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will bring substantial payroll and HR operations experience, people leadership capability, and hands-on knowledge of Workday or a comparable payroll platform. They will be analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable managing competing priorities, and able to communicate effectively across organizational levels. Experience in a shared services environment, continuous improvement, LEAN or Six Sigma methods, and automation would be valuable.
