  • Create intuitive data models, relationships, measures, calculated columns, drill-throughs, filters, and visualizations using Power Query and DAX as appropriate.
  • Optimize dashboard usability, accuracy, refresh performance, and accessibility while following established reporting standards.
  • Automate recurring reports and reduce manual preparation through reusable datasets, templates, and controlled refresh processes.
  • Partner with report consumers to gather feedback, prioritize enhancements, and drive adoption of self-service analytics.

SQL & Data Management

  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, join, aggregate, and validate data from relational databases and approved enterprise data sources.
  • Understand database structures, tables, views, keys, relationships, and common data-quality challenges.
  • Support data preparation and transformation activities, including cleansing, mapping, reconciliation, and exception handling.
  • Work with data and platform teams to troubleshoot source issues, refresh failures, access constraints, and performance concerns.
  • Apply appropriate controls for data access, confidentiality, retention, and responsible use.

Data Analytics & Insight Development

  • Analyze service management and operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, recurring issues, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business and SMO questions into clear analytical requirements, measures, dimensions, and reporting outputs.
  • Perform exploratory analysis, root-cause investigation, data reconciliation, and ad hoc analysis to support decisions and problem resolution.
  • Develop concise narratives, visual callouts, and recommendations that make complex findings understandable to varied audiences.
  • Define and maintain consistent KPI calculations, metric logic, business rules, and reporting definitions.

About You:

  • 5-7 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, operational reporting, or a related technology role.
  • Hands-on experience querying relational databases using SQL, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, common table expressions, and data validation techniques.
  • Strong experience developing and supporting Power BI reports and dashboards, including data modeling, Power Query, DAX, and visualization best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, evaluate options, and deliver practical solutions.
  • Experience gathering requirements and converting business needs into reliable metrics, dashboards, and analytical products.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, consistency, documentation, and quality assurance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across matrixed teams and managing competing priorities.
  • Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience with ServiceNow reporting, Performance Analytics, APIs, or data extracts.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, ETL or ELT processes, and enterprise data governance.
  • Exposure to Python, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Power Automate, or other analytics and automation tools; hands-on Power Automate experience for workflow automation and report/process orchestration is strongly preferred.
