The Senior Creative Director, NFL Brand Experience, shares in the leadership of the NFL’s in-house creative agency. The Brand Experience team is responsible for setting the creative foundation and story for nearly every expression of the National Football League’s brand. From global events like Super Bowl, Draft and a growing slate of International Games around the world, to the brands, identities and uniform designs of the 32 Clubs, to every cause or initiative, to apparel and fashion and beyond, the Brand Experience team is there, where the brand meets our fans. The Senior Creative Director is a mentor and culture-carrier, who is as passionate about how we work, as they are with the creative excellence of the work we produce.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the department head - VP, Head of Global Brand Experience in fostering a creative, supportive and inspiring team culture.
  • Leadership of multiple design teams overseeing the branding and creative strategy for global NFL events.
    • Mentorship and career development of creative talent and the future leadership of the team.
  • Representing the Brand Experience team with NFL Club ownership, internal executives, media, and host cities and communities around the world. A steward of the team, our reputation, and our ability to shine light on the cultures and stories wherever football takes us.
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Project Management to oversee all team operations including the evaluation and refinement of the team’s workflow and creative processes
    • Managing the creative development and delivery calendar
    • Support the oversight of the department budget and budget planning
  • Oversee the documentation and promotion of the team’s output, including:
    • Managing the capture of our behind the scenes, process and artist collaborative content
    • Managing the yearly submission of work for industry recognition and promotion cross-organizationally 

Required Qualifications

  • 10-15+ years of creative leadership experience
  • Insatiable curiosity and a truly unique creative point of view
    • Deep knowledge of NFL football is helpful, but not a requirement. Creative drive, fresh thinking, and extraordinary human-first leadership skills are essential. X’s and O’s are teachable.
  • Proven experience, excellence and innovation in the following areas of design and studio or agency leadership (but not limited to):
    • Large scale event and experiential design
    • Identity design and typography
    • Brand building, brief writing - an overall high level of communication savvy
    • Design for retail, fashion and consumer products
    • Video and motion design
    • Budget, workflow and timeline management
    • Photo/video shoot 
    • Comfort and skill in presentation, public speaking and media
    • Meaningful engagement with and use of AI as not only a tool for efficiency, but creative empowerment and exploration

Preferred Qualifications

  • MFA in design or creative field
  • At least 7+ years of team leadership experience

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. The role will require some weekend and extended time when on-site for events. This role is on-site at the NFL’s New York office.

Physical Demands

Be prepared for an active role on-site at our major events.

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

 

Salary
$155,000$175,000 USD
