About the role

As a Senior Accountant at Fordham, you will work within a professional team, in a dynamic environment. You'll support your manager, Partner, and the wider team, as they seek to provide exceptional service to clients and stakeholders.

This role is based in our central Melbourne offices, at 525 Collins Street.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise, coach, and delegate work to juniors in your team, promoting an environment of collaboration and teamwork

  • Coordinate with your team leader on the various phases of an engagement, assisting manager and partner with business performance, structuring, wealth, and asset protection engagements

  • Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies, and SMSFs

  • Prepare and implement tax planning strategies and initiatives

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or commerce, and either studying or have completed CA or CPA

  • Approximately 3-5 years’ experience in Australian public practice

  • Exposure to large business structures, and complex and diverse engagements

  • Deep understanding of tax issues such as Division 7A, GST, FBT and SMSFs

  • Experience in supervising and delegating work to junior staff

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Key competencies required:

  • Encourage teamwork on assignments and a receptive team environment for feedback

  • Explain issues and concepts clearly and confidently within team and with clients

  • Understand client aspirations, business and personal and provide information to clients that is timely, accurate and understandable

  • Take effective control of assigned tasks and their resourcing

  • Plan and delegate work effectively by providing clear instructions to team members
