More about the role:

Burson is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our Consumer Brand team in support of a global automotive client. This role will be fully dedicated to that account and will support integrated communications programs spanning Product, Brand, Corporate and Citizenship initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings a foundation in OEM automotive communications, strong project management capabilities, and a passion for brand storytelling. This person will support integrated communications campaigns, media relations efforts, product communications programs and cross-functional agency collaboration while serving as a trusted day-to-day contributor across multiple workstreams.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Burson's flagship automotive accounts and partner with communications, strategy, creative and marketing teams to deliver impactful campaigns that drive business results. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter who is comfortable managing multiple priorities, navigating a fast-paced environment and contributing wherever support is needed across a large, integrated account.

Preferred Hybrid location is Los Angeles but will consider fully remote anywhere in Southern California.

What you'll do:

  • Support day-to-day execution of integrated communications programs across Mazda's Product, Brand, Corporate and Citizenship workstreams.
  • Participate in client calls, meetings and status updates while helping manage timelines, deliverables and project workflows.
  • Assist account leaders in maintaining strong client relationships through responsive communication, attention to detail and high-quality execution.
  • Support media relations efforts across automotive, business, consumer, lifestyle and trade media, including the development of media materials, pitches, briefing documents, fact sheets and messaging.
  • Contribute to product communications programs, vehicle launches, corporate storytelling initiatives and ongoing brand campaigns.
  • Track media coverage and industry developments, synthesizing information into concise reports and actionable insights that support client objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining visibility into deadlines, approvals, dependencies and next steps.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal teams, client stakeholders and agency partners across communications, strategy, creative and marketing disciplines.
  • Demonstrate initiative by proactively identifying solutions, following through on assignments and helping keep projects moving forward.
  • Build expertise in the automotive, mobility and transportation sectors, staying informed on industry trends, competitive activity and emerging topics impacting the client.
  • Support integrated campaigns that require collaboration across multiple disciplines and agencies, helping ensure earned media and communications strategies align with broader marketing objectives.
  • Assist with media events, launches, experiential programs and other activations, including logistics coordination, staffing support and on-site execution as needed.

Experience that contributes to success:

  • 2-3 years of public relations, strategic communications or integrated communications experience, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Automotive OEM experience required. Experience supporting automotive manufacturers, suppliers, vehicle brands or related mobility clients is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting consumer-facing communications programs, product communications initiatives or integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to develop compelling media materials and client-ready content.
  • Familiarity with automotive, business, consumer and trade media landscapes.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively, independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Experience working across teams, disciplines and agency partners is preferred.
  • Professionalism, adaptability and confidence participating in client meetings, presentations and events.
  • Willingness to support occasional travel and event staffing requirements.

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range between:
$40,000$85,000 USD
