We're looking for a Research Coordinator to join our Research Operations team in San Francisco, with a dedicated focus on hardware research programs. Our Research Operations team designs and executes the human research studies that power Oura's next-generation sensor development and scientific innovation, and bolster our scientific credibility. This role supports early-stage exploration of novel device and sensor form factors, helping validate new hardware concepts and enhance the accuracy of our algorithms. In this role, you'll support and execute human research studies across the project lifecycle, from study initiation and trial monitoring to data collection and quality review.
What you will do:
- Support up to 3 hardware-focused human subjects research studies in parallel, under the guidance of Research Project Managers, Algorithm Scientists, and Research Scientists
- Gain expertise in emerging data collection capabilities and early-stage device/sensor concepts
- Execute day-to-day study operations, including scheduling, room and equipment setup, participant flow, and accurate capture of data from prototype devices
- Collaborate closely with a range of technical and non-technical teams to maintain high-quality study rigor and documentation
- Occasionally travel (domestic) for site visits, vendor or lab coordination, or cross-office collaboration as study needs require
This is a hybrid role, requiring 3+ days per week in the San Francisco, CA office.
What you'll bring:
- Have 1+ years of experience in human subjects research in academic, commercial, or clinical settings
- Have experience conducting or supporting participant screening, scheduling, IRB approval/consent processes, data monitoring, and study documentation
- Are familiar with physiological data (e.g., wearable tech, multimodal sensor data), medical devices, or product prototypes
- Can troubleshoot tech, research, and data challenges during live sessions
- Have a foundational understanding of and commitment to human subjects research ethics, Good Clinical Practice, and protecting participant and product privacy/confidentiality
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a track record of well-documented, high-quality data collection
- Are based in San Francisco and available for regular onsite work at least three days per week
- Are willing to occasionally travel for study-related site visits or cross-team collaboration

- Automating and creating tools/artifacts to optimize process efficiency

Ōura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
