KONE DM Purchasing is a global organization of purchasing and supplier management organization responsible for direct materials sourcing, with the mission to continuously improve Kone product and service competitiveness, strong quality performance and risk mitigation skills.
 
We are now looking for a Regional Purchasing Category Manager located in Kunshan, China.


In this role you will work to drive product cost competitiveness and continuous improvement, explore and develop VAVE opportunities and implementation, implement new products with KONE suppliers and manage production transfers across KONE suppliers. The purpose of this role is to ensure quality and competitiveness of KONE solutions in order to maximize the value to KONE Customers.

This role reports to China DM Purchasing head and dot line to respective Global Category Purchasing Manager.

Main responsibilities:

  • Understand business requirements, product development roadmap, supply market development and technology roadmaps.
  • Support with competition benchmarking to identify sourcing opportunities, to fulfill manage stakeholders and their expectations
  • Contribute and translate business requirements, market understanding and analytical output to sourcing strategy and cross-functional category plans, and lead its implementation (in cooperation with cross-function teams, i.e, R&D).
  • Lead respective supplier negotiations
  • Act as Contract owner for nominated contracts according to supplier Segmentation principle
  • Identify and prevent various risks to ensure resilience of supply and minimized cost impact
  • Resolve effectively supplier relevant operational issues;
  • Lead your team to stay focus on category saving and other KPI goals with effective measurement to ensure the realization.
  • Manage supplier relationship through effective supplier segmentation and category steering activities.
  • Ensure Supplier development and roadmap planning in Category
  • Manage the sourcing budget within the category

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in Sourcing skills and experience
  • Knowledge and previous experience in elevator/escalator business is preferred
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree, preferably in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • Good negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Customer oriented, self motivated and responbility ownership, team work, resourceful and logical in problem solving
  • Relevant supply chain and sourcing project management skills
  • Analytical and strategic thinking, change management skills
  • High energy/integrity
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Excellent level of English is mandatory
