Job Description Summary

We are looking for a Regional EHS Manager to join our Grid Systems Integration team in Stafford, UK.

This is a senior role with responsibility for driving environmental, health and safety performance across a project-led organisation supporting grid infrastructure delivery. The role supports projects from civil works through to installation, commissioning and completion, across both onshore and offshore environments, including turnkey, consortium and EPC delivery models.
Supporting projects across France, Spain and the UK, including Scotland, you will work closely with operational leaders, project teams and the wider EHS function to drive a strong, consistent EHS framework across the region. You will help shape a proactive safety culture, ensure compliance with internal and legal standards, strengthen audit and incident management processes, and support the safe execution of project and commissioning activities across multiple sites.
This role will suit an experienced EHS leader who is comfortable operating in a multi-site environment and can combine strategic oversight with practical operational support in high-risk, project-led settings.

Job Description

  • Build, lead and develop the regional EHS organisation, ensuring the right capability, training and resource is in place to support a multi-country, multicultural project environment.
  • Partner closely with the Regional Operational Leader, operational teams and the wider EHS function to drive EHS performance, culture and consistent execution across all regional activities.
  • Drive the implementation of GE Vernova EHS standards, legal requirements and Business Line priorities across customer sites, workshops and project environments.
  • Define clear expectations for safe work across complex, multi-contractor construction and project execution environments, from civil works through to commissioning.
  • Lead alignment on the safe execution of commissioning activities, particularly in high-energy environments, ensuring practical controls and consistent standards are embedded across the region.
  • Support field teams in managing real-time risk and decision-making under schedule pressure, balancing safe execution with operational delivery.
  • Align EHS and Services on practical implementation and performance expectations across the region.
  • Build strong working relationships across regional and local EHS teams to ensure local requirements are interpreted and applied in a practical, consistent way.
  • Establish a strong regional EHS operating rhythm, including reviews, incident calls, action follow-up and ongoing performance tracking.
  • Consolidate regional EHS data and ensure accurate, timely internal and external reporting.
  • Coordinate incident investigations, ensuring accidents and compliance events are properly investigated, documented, reported and followed through to closure.
  • Coordinate EHS training delivery and build organisational capability through clear guidance, coaching and leadership engagement.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, emerging risks and industry practices to ensure standards, controls and ways of working remain current, compliant and effective.
  • Lead audit programmes to identify existing and potential EHS risks, define corrective and preventative actions, and ensure timely resolution of findings.

Candidate requirements

  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent recognised health and safety certification.
  • IOSH membership, certification, or a similar professional EHS credential.
  • Significant EHS leadership experience within a complex industrial, engineering, construction, energy, offshore, or similarly high-risk environment.
  • Experience leading EHS programmes across multiple countries, sites, or project locations.
  • Strong knowledge of core health and safety programmes, including Lockout/Tagout, confined space, electrical safety, contractor safety, and hazardous chemical management.
  • Strong understanding of EHS regulatory compliance, environmental requirements, and permitting.
  • Experience working with recognised management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Proven ability to lead audits, investigations, reporting, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activity.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across a multicultural, multi-site organisation.
  • Fluent English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You must have the full right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% as required.

Desirable

  • Experience in grid, power, utilities, EPC, offshore, or construction related renewable energy project environments.
  • Experience supporting turnkey or consortium project delivery.
  • A degree in engineering or environmental science,
  • Additional professional certifications in safety, environmental management, industrial hygiene, or engineering.
