The Industrial QA/QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that construction, fabrication, installation, and maintenance activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, industry codes, and client requirements. This role performs inspections, audits, testing, and documentation reviews to verify that work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with approved quality control procedures. The Industrial QA/QC Inspector works closely with project management, field personnel, subcontractors, and clients to maintain quality excellence throughout all phases of the project.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance and quality control inspections on industrial construction and maintenance projects.
  • Verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of materials, equipment, fabrication, installation, and completed work.
  • Review construction documents, inspection test plans (ITPs), quality procedures, and work packages.
  • Verify proper implementation of approved procedures, work instructions, and quality programs.
  • Document inspection findings and prepare detailed quality reports.
  • Coordinate and witness testing activities, including pressure testing, hydrostatic testing, and functional testing as required.
  • Inspect structural steel, piping systems, mechanical installations, coatings, and electrical installations based on project scope.
  • Identify non-conforming work and issue deficiency reports when required.
  • Track corrective actions and verify resolution of quality issues.
  • Coordinate inspections with clients, third-party inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain quality records, turnover packages, test reports, material certifications, and inspection documentation.
  • Support project audits and quality reviews.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate quality concerns to project leadership.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and compliance.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical training in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Welding Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, inspection, construction, fabrication, or industrial maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of construction codes, standards, and inspection processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and quality documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction documentation systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment and client-specific screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector certification.
  • API certifications applicable to project scope.
  • ASNT Level II certification in NDT methods.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience in power generation, oil & gas, utility, manufacturing, mining, or industrial construction environments.
  • Experience with mechanical, piping, structural, electrical, or coatings inspections.

  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, inspection procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Ability to identify quality deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with project teams.
  • Strong documentation and record management skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk active construction and industrial job sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to travel between project locations as required.

Work Environment

  • Industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, power generation facilities, utility projects, fabrication shops, and construction sites.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, heavy equipment, welding operations, elevated work areas, and changing weather conditions.
  • Work may require access to confined spaces, elevated structures, and active construction zones.
