QA Engineer – Backend Infrastructure (1-year fixed term contract)

We are looking for a highly motivated and technically curious QA Engineer to join our Backend Infrastructure team on a 1-year fixed term contract. In this role, you will validate large-scale enterprise backend systems used in healthcare environments, ensuring quality, reliability, performance, and operational stability.

Your role:

• Design and execute functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end tests for backend infrastructure components and complex distributed systems.
• Validate installation, upgrade, migration, configuration, backup, recovery, and deployment workflows across single-server, clustered, distributed, and cloud-based environments.
• Work closely with software engineers, DevOps, automation teams, and product stakeholders to investigate failures, improve testing strategies, verify fixes, and contribute to reliable software releases.
• Investigate Windows, IIS, networking, database, and service-level issues by analysing logs, diagnostics, system behaviour, and infrastructure dependencies.
• Participate in reliability improvement initiatives, design reviews, and post-incident investigations to strengthen overall product quality throughout the development lifecycle.

You're the right fit if:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology OR Vocational Education in Information Technology or equivalent.
• You have 2+ years of software QA experience, preferably within backend, infrastructure, enterprise, or server-side systems, including hands-on experience testing complex backend systems and integrations; or at least 4 years of relevant experience if you hold vocational education in Information Technology.
• You hold an ISTQB Foundation Certification.
• You have experience with software testing methodologies and test design techniques.
• You have hands-on experience with Windows, Windows Server, Windows Services, IIS, web services, and troubleshooting system or connectivity issues.
• You understand basic networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, ports, firewalls, and client-server communication.
• You have experience using troubleshooting tools such as logs, Event Viewer, PowerShell, or network diagnostic tools.
• You have scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or a similar language.
• You bring strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Preferred: experience with Kafka, message brokers, event-driven architecture, databases, CI/CD, automated testing, or monitoring tools.
• Preferred: experience with Wireshark, crash dump analysis, production incident investigation, DICOM, HL7, TLS/security protocols, or regulated healthcare software.

Compensation & benefits

Doing meaningful work should come with fair, transparent rewards. The base monthly salary range for this grade is 17,138 – 28,563 ILS. We determine pay within the range using objective factors, like the skills the role requires, your relevant experience and the responsibility you'll have in this role, alongside internal equity and local market considerations.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
