We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Proposal Engineer with 5–8 years of experience to support the development of technical and commercial proposals for automation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in BIW (Body-in-White) Automation and a solid understanding of industrial automation solutions, manufacturing processes, and proposal development.

In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing customer requirements, understanding technical specifications, coordinating with internal engineering teams, and preparing comprehensive proposals that meet customer expectations. You will play a critical role in translating technical requirements into effective and commercially viable automation solutions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze customer RFQs, technical specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
• Develop technical proposals and solutions primarily for BIW Automation projects.
• Understand manufacturing processes and automation requirements within automotive and industrial environments.
• Coordinate with design, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and project teams to gather technical inputs for proposal preparation.
• Define the scope of work, technical requirements, project deliverables, assumptions, exclusions, and timelines.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, proposal presentations, and supporting documents.
• Develop conceptual solutions for automated manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements.
• Support the preparation of project schedules, resource requirements, and execution strategies.
• Identify potential technical risks and propose suitable solutions during the proposal stage.
• Ensure proposals are accurate, competitive, technically feasible, and aligned with customer requirements.
• Support handover activities from the proposal stage to the project execution team after order confirmation.
• Continuously stay updated on developments in BIW manufacturing, industrial automation, and robotic technologies.

Must-Have Skills

• 5–8 years of relevant experience as a Proposal Engineer, Automation Engineer, Application Engineer, or in a similar role.
• Strong hands-on knowledge and understanding of BIW Automation.
• Experience working with automotive manufacturing processes and Body-in-White production systems.
• Ability to understand customer specifications, RFQs, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Experience in preparing technical proposals and defining project scope.
• Good coordination and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple proposals and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong documentation and presentation skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience in Cost Estimation for automation projects, including equipment, engineering, manpower, and project-related costs.
• Knowledge of Robotic Automation, including robotic welding, handling, assembly, and material movement applications.
• Familiarity with industrial robots, automation systems, fixtures, tooling, conveyors, and production lines.
• Understanding of project planning, commercial proposals, and quotation preparation.
• Exposure to CAD tools and engineering design concepts.
• Knowledge of automotive industry standards and manufacturing practices.
