Job Description:

Role Overview

The Planner owns the development, maintenance, and control of the project schedule across E&M systems (signaling, power supply, telecom, AFC, PSD) installation and testing & commissioning. Using Primavera P6, the role ensures milestones are achievable, interfaces are coordinated, risks are visible, and executive reporting supports timely decisions.

Accountabilities

Baseline Development & Logic Architecture

Build a multi level WBS and an integrated Level 3/4 CPM schedule in P6 with appropriate calendars, constraints, and logic.

Reflect the metro lifecycle: design → civil construction → E&M/track → rolling stock delivery → static/dynamic tests → pre revenue trial running

Periodic Updates & Performance Forecasting

Consolidate subcontractors’ updates (weekly/biweekly/monthly), maintain actuals and logic, and monitor Longest Path / Total Float / Near critical paths.

Produce S curves, look ahead plans, manpower histograms, and trend charts for management review.

Align schedule to key milestones, access date, interface control point.

Run schedule check for negative float, excessive hard constraints to ensure contractual compliance.

Reporting: lead the schedule segment of progress meetings; deliver concise dashboards, variance explanations, and corrective action plans.

Delay Forensics & Claims Support

Perform time impact analysis against the approved baseline, quantify critical path impact, prepare EOT substantiation, and propose recovery/acceleration options (fast tracking, resequencing, resource reallocation, extended shifts).

Complete other tasks assign by lead, if required.

Required Skills/ Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Construction/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Transportation, Project Management, or related fields. (Public works and rail experience preferred.)
  • Hands‑on proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6; familiarity with MS Project and advanced Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining contract schedules on large infrastructure/rail/EPC projects; strong communication and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders.

Language and Desired Attributes

  • Fluency in Chinese and English.
  • Proactive, accurate and detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
