This position is accountable for performing the work as per proper specs, paints, colors, millage, atmospheric & weather conditions to provide the protective coatings to the products fabricated in the Paint & Blast operation at TurboFab.  Prepares surfaces and paints product accordingly.

This position ensures that the efforts of the Blast & Paint department support the facility's goals.  Additionally, this position is expected to assist other departments and other facility personnel with interpretation of customer's coating specifications, qualifying non-standard systems and development of standard protective coating systems. Prepares surfaces using blasting and cleaning operations, mixes colors and applies paint as per procedures and product.

What you will Do:

1.Comply with all of TurboFab’s Environmental, Health and Safety Programs, Regulations and Guidelines.
2.Must keep all areas clean and orderly; and comply with TurboFab’s housekeeping procedures.
3.Must meet the production schedules of the Paint and Blast facility without jeopardizing quality.
4.Must comply with applicable practices, policies, and procedures, when painting and/or blasting.
5.Must comply with all safety and environmental rules and regulations.
6.Must perform work as per proper specs, paints, colors, and millage of product being painted.
7.Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment when painting and/or blasting.
8.Must maintain all equipment in good working condition.
9.Assists in the training of other less experience Painter/Blasters.
10.Must properly prepare parts for paint as well as mixing and applying paint.
11.Must safely and efficiently use blasting and cleaning operation in the preparation of surfaces for coating purposes.
  
What you will have:

•This position is for the fully competent and qualified Painter/Blaster that has three to five years of experience and requires minimal supervision to perform the job. 
•Must exhibit the skills and willingness to perform assigned tasks in a fully competent manner.
•Must be experienced in a heavy steel fabrication environment.
•Knowledge of the standard protective coating systems is preferred.  
•Must be able to get along with others.
•Interpersonal skills are helpful.
•Good communication skills, both verbal and written are preferred.
•Experience in the safe operation of a forklift is preferred. 
•Experience in the safe operation of a man-lift is preferred.
•Knowledgeable in determining proper coating applications under various weather conditions, is preferred.
•Knowledge of the different levels of blasting is preferred.
