An opportunity for a Building & Construction Engineer / Architect has arisen within Airbus Helicopters España S.A. in Albacete.


The selected candidate will join the Building Construction Team within the Facility Management Real Estate (FMRE) department. FMRE is a core department at Airbus responsible for driving ESG policies in our facilities, executing all civil works, managing energy supply, transportation, hospitality, infrastructure maintenance, and corporate space design.


We are seeking a versatile professional with a multi-purpose profile who can dynamically provide support to functions both within and outside the traditional Building & Construction scope as business needs and workloads require. Due to the hands-on nature of infrastructure operations, this position is primarily on-site in Albacete (with exceptional remote work considered only on a punctual basis) and requires availability for occasional travel to other Airbus sites in Spain.


RESPONSIBILITIES
The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

  • Manage and deliver end-to-end civil works and infrastructure projects under Airbus responsibility, ensuring compliance with strict safety and quality standards.

  • Design and optimize efficient facility layouts and office spaces aligned with corporate operational needs and modern workplace trends.

  • Oversee construction sites and technical operations, executing rigorous procedure follow-ups and quality assurance protocols.

  • Integrate and apply ESG concepts into all building designs, construction projects, and facility operations to promote sustainability.

  • Control project finances and schedules by managing CapEx/OpEx budgets, tracking timelines, and conducting Risk & Opportunity (R&O) management.

  • Apply the Airbus Leadership Model to engage, develop, and motivate external and internal teams, fostering a trustful, inclusive, and customer-focused environment.

  • Education: Degree in Engineering or Architecture with a strong building background (Level EQF7 / MECES 3 " Máster Habilitante").

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in construction and/or infrastructure projects (10+ years preferred). Mandatory experience as a field engineer or technical project manager in the building & construction sector.

  • Soft skills: Excellent communication skills at all levels, team-focused mindset, commitment to customer satisfaction, and the ability to encourage innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Languages: Negotiation / High level of English is mandatory.

  • Technical knowledge: Strong project management skills, technical management, Quality Assurance (QA), CapEx/OpEx financial control, R&O management, planning scheduling, and licenses & administration management.

  • Valuable / Nice to have: Proven experience managing construction and infrastructure projects specifically within the industrial sector.
