About the team and position

Carvana’s Market Operation department is known for its team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Tempe, AZ 

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead multiple Market Operations team training, development, culture initiatives and projects by successfully collaborating, communicating and prioritizing across essential stakeholders to ensure goals are achieved. 
  • Build strong relationships and work cross-functionally (internally and externally) with the necessary partners to support project initiatives.
  • Successfully execute full-cycle program management duties to meet project goals within given constraints (define goal, scope, deliverables, resources, budget and timeline; planning, monitoring and controlling during execution and finally, closing), with minimal guidance.
  • Leverage advanced analytical skills to measure project success, assess operational performance, conduct root cause analysis, and develop data-driven recommendations that optimize performance and influence senior leadership decision-making.
  • Effectively work through areas of ambiguity and complexity; demonstrating initiative and structuring problem-solving approaches to achieve our business needs.
  • Identify operational weaknesses and risks, and help innovate or improve processes.
  • Use data to make operational decisions,  uncover insights, and provide direction to senior management. 
  • Effectively partner with stakeholders to determine the needs of their departments and create/deliver communication plans to leadership; build, maintain, and communicate portfolio and/or project performance and progress across Market Operations platform and stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you should have

  • Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 5 years working experience in Project Management, operations, business analytics, or a related role, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams through Initiation, Design, Planning, Execution and Close phases for large-scale, complex and ambiguous initiatives
  • Experience working across different business units to communicate project vision, develop plans and drive change
  • Proven ability to comfortably engage, evaluate, and collaborate with external job candidates, ensuring a positive and professional experience throughout the program
  • Experience with developing training processes and content 
  • Ability to structure and conduct root cause analysis, identify key performance indicators (KPIs), and develop effective solutions to operational challenges.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to transform complex data sets into actionable insights and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to drive excellence and meet high standards
  • Fast learner with the ability to make decisions, problem solve, prioritize, and multi-task in an analytical and organized manner
  • Superior interpersonal skills, ability to interface with a variety of personalities with professionalism
  • Ability to take an entrepreneurial approach to project management and commitment to team support
  • Ability to learn quickly, transfer knowledge and provide valuable and actionable feedback
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Must be willing to travel when necessary (up to 10% of the time)

Other requirements

To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • The ability to walk/stand and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time (8+ hours).
  • Must be able to stay in stationary positions for extended periods of time (when driving) up to 3 hours at a time. 
  • Frequently communicates with customers and must be able to exchange accurate information.
