JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Program Development Coordinator supports the design, implementation, and operational oversight of the NeMAC (Nebraska Manufacturing Alliance Credential) program. This position works closely with internal and external partners to ensure program outcomes are met; manages project timelines, partner engagement, and ensures coordinated implementation of grant funded objectives across curriculum, workforce partnerships, and student experiences.

This is a grant‑funded position effective until December 2028 with the possibility of extension based on continued funding.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports the design, implementation and operational oversight of the NeMac program, including project timelines, milestones, deliverables, communication workflows, and partner coordination.
  • Coordinates communication and collaboration among internal departments, instructors, employer partners, community organizations, and other stakeholders involved in project delivery.
  • Supports development and maintenance of project workplans, process documentation, schedules, and internal reporting tools.
  • Tracks participant, credential, and employment-related data in coordination with appropriate college staff and systems.
  • Prepares or supports preparation of reports, updates, presentations, and documentation required for college leadership, partners, and funding entities.
  • Leads participant onboarding, orientation, and ongoing communication throughout the program to ensure students understand program expectations, available supports, and next steps.
  • Works collaboratively with instructional and student support staff to strengthen participant persistence, completion, and transition into employment or continued education.
  • Coordinates program budget, contract coordination, purchasing, resource planning, and project reporting.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for program participants, providing support, guidance, troubleshooting, and referrals to appropriate college resources as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with project agreements, data-sharing expectations, privacy requirements, and institutional procedures, while maintaining accurate project documentation.
  • Facilitates periodic meetings with internal and external partners providing program updates on participant engagement, deliverables, risks, barriers, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Represents the program in a variety of activities that advance the goals of the program.
  • Maintains accurate project documentation.
  • Attends work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.

This is an on-premise position located at the Fort Omaha Campus, with travel to other campuses and facilities as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of project management approaches and methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build trust with program participants.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and other college supported systems.
  • Excellent communication skills including active listening.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team-orientated environment.
  • Proven ability to manage new project/program and prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate cooperation and professionalism while maintaining patience and understanding in stressful situations.
  • Commitment to advancing equity, social justice, and economic inclusion.
  • Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social work, nonprofit management, project management, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of demonstrated experience in program implementation, project management or business development.
  • Experience supervising staff or volunteers.

An equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • PMP certification a plus.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities.
  • Must pass a background check.
