What we want  

The Program Coordinator Il will support faculty and students with the day-to-day development, delivery, and evaluation of the Pre-Clerkship curriculum under the direct supervision of the Pre-Clerkship Program Manager. This position creates, coordinates, and disseminates information related to the assigned courses; updates and posts materials in the learning management system; updates the courses' calendar and schedule, reserves rooms and/or creates Zoom sessions; and serves as a liaison between the course co-directors, faculty, students, and staff within Pre-Clerkship.

Responsibilities:

Pre-Clerkship Coordination

  • Coordinates all course information and scheduling for assigned courses.

  • Responsibilities include arranging room reservations and Zoom sessions; coordinating proctors and rooms/Zoom sessions for examinations; maintaining the learning management system; preparing and leading course initiation meetings; serving as the primary administrative liaison with faculty regarding course scheduling; and coordinating with the Offices of Academic Technology, Marketing, and Communications for support related to course sessions, examinations, and trainings.

Curriculum Management

  • Directs course leadership in the coordination and dissemination of course materials required of curricular blocks, threads, Pre-clerkship courses and engineering courses within the School of Engineering Medicines education program.

  • Administers curriculum in-person and in e-learning environments utilizing a learning management system application as well as additional required software applications.

  • Manages the learning management system for the assigned courses.

Communication and Team Cooperation

  • Leads meetings related to Pre-clerkship, site specific coordinator meeting (required), all sites coordinator meeting (required), Pre-clerkship subcommittee meeting (as needed), curriculum committee meeting (as needed).

  • Oversees the investigation of student and Pre-clerkship faculty concerns, identify problems, and assists associate director and/or Pre-clerkship assistant dean in establishing goals and objectives to resolve concerns.

  • Works collaboratively and cooperatively with other Pre-clerkship coordinators, directors, students, and staff.

  • Leads special projects and teams related to the Pre-clerkship curriculum.

Accreditation

  • Maintains and coordinates data required to comply with institutional program and accreditation requirements in a timely manner. Ensures implementation and adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Directs the Office of Evaluation and Assessment in the mapping of curriculum content for assigned courses.

  • Directs the Office of Evaluation and Assessment in the tracking of faculty contact hours and compiling into the specified format.

Policies & Procedures

  • Performs all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and medical school guidelines.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality with regards to exams, quizzes, and planning information prior to implementation.

  • Distributes knowledge of medical education, and engineering education, policies and procedures as a program lead.

  • Develops and directs special tasks and projects as needed with little or no supervision from the associate director and/or the Pre-clerkship assistant dean.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Four years of program administration experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in medical education, business administration, or management

  • Professional experience in higher education or a medical setting.

  • Experience with learning management system-- and/or Canvas, Progress IQ, ExamSoftware.

  • Knowledge of TAMUS Policies and Regulations and Texas A&M University Rules.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outook.
