Job Description:

Job Purpose

This Marketing Product Specialist role is responsible for the Castrol Auto Lubricant portfolio management in China market. Support the Auto Portfolio MKT Lead to deliver Auto Portfolio Strategy/Roadmap and Marketing Plan for China Auto market space to ensure sustainable business growth.

Key Accountabilities

  • Insight -- Anticipate product related market / technology / customer / consumer trends & intelligence to ensure the continued portfolio innovation & competitiveness.
  • Competition landscape -- Keep close eyes on key Competitor’s Product & Price movement to identify gaps/opportunities on portfolio competition advantages and proactively propose optimization/action.
  • 3Y pipeline – Own 3Y Product Innovation / Pipeline Planning & Review
  • NPD -- Lead New Product Development end to end (include holistic product project / launch plan, go through Product Process/System, , internal/external communication, etc.)
  • Pricing – Lead Portfolio Price Positioning / Value Chain Design, Optimization
  • Product Assets -- Development (Proposition, Demo, Value Calculator, POS, Sales Presenter)
  • Product Performance – lead post launch review (6mth, 12mth) , identify under-performance product tails root cause & mitigation plan.
  • Life Cycle Monitoring – Lead Phase In/Out monitoring, low-performing SKU housekeeping and Portfolio Simplification, etc.
  • New Energy Vehicle Product and Ancillary / Adjacency -- lead / participate product & offer innovation related project.
  • Drive 4P integration through collaboration with China Activation Team, Brand & Comms Team, Technical Team, Sales Team and Global MKT Team to create more commercial value to Castrol.

Education

  • 1st priority --- University degree in Marketing, Business Management
  • 2nd priority --- Chemical/Engineering/Finance with strong sense of biz acumen / market intelligence / innovation

Working Experience:

Minimum 5~8 years of experience in Marketing

Minimum 3 years working experience in Auto related Industry (e.g. Car / Commercial Vehicle Lube, Type, Spare parts, etc.) 

Evidence of independent leading role of end-to-end product development/launch with solid results.

Strong experience on Product/Price planning and implementation Solid experience on big/complex project management.

Soft Skill:

Strong strategic thinking, analytical and presentation skills Experience of working in a matrix organization Strong interpersonal, communication and influence skills Evidence of effective networking and relationship building skills both internally and externally Self-motivated, high level of enthusiasm and drive Proficient in English and Mandarin


Travel Requirement:

Negligible travel should be expected with this role
