About this Product Manager (RCM) role at Blueprint

Blueprint · Remote · Chicago, Illinois, United States

We're hiring a Product Lead to build and run Blueprint's newest line of business: an AI-powered billing service for therapists in private practice.

For solo therapists, insurance billing is confusing, stressful, and full of edge cases. When something goes wrong, most have nowhere to turn. Today, they can (a) do it themselves, at the cost of valuable time and energy; (b) hire a third-party biller who charges 6–10% but can still make mistakes or miss follow-ups and has little incentive to spend an hour chasing a $100 claim for a $7 fee; or (c) join an aggregator that makes billing easy but costs them their independence.

We’re building the missing option, giving therapists the hands-off experience of an aggregator while letting them keep control of their practice. Until now, the economics didn’t work. Delivering that level of follow-through required too many human hours. Long-horizon AI agents change the math. They can follow a claim across days or weeks, handle the repetitive work, and bring in a human when judgment is needed. Every claim can be worked to resolution, so therapists get paid what they’ve earned without surrendering their independence.

We’re starting with expert billers running the service and building toward autonomous billing without giving up human accountability. We’ll instrument every step and shift each workflow to agents only as they prove reliable. You’ll own the business from the first beta practice through public launch, including product, operations, and P&L. You’ll work directly with our founder and a dedicated design and engineering team. It’s founder-level ownership without starting from zero. Blueprint already owns the EHR layer, has built the core billing infrastructure, and reaches more than 70,000 clinicians.

What you’ll own

  • Launch the human-powered service and tracking layer, instrumenting the system to generate training data for our agents.
  • Build agents that take over billing workflows one job at a time, moving from supervised to autonomous as they prove reliable.
  • Design the orchestration layer billers use to supervise, approve, and correct agents, with every correction improving the system.
  • Set pricing, packaging, and the service commitments we make to customers.
  • Lead public launch and early scale across operations, hiring, capacity planning, and P&L.
  • Serve as Blueprint’s insurance billing expert and shape the roadmap alongside our core EHR team.

Who we’re looking for

  • You’re an AI-native product builder who has shipped RCM, claims, or insurance billing products, ideally on the provider side.
  • You’ve built something 0→1 with a real operations layer, such as a managed service, marketplace, or human-in-the-loop workflow.
  • You’ve built LLM or agent workflows in production and you’re deeply hands-on with AI in your own work.
  • You can hire, lead, and learn from billers, treating them as product partners rather than ticket-takers.
  • You excited to think like a GM, not just a PM. You’re prepared to own pricing, operations, the P&L, and the decisions related to scaling the business.
  • You can model hours per account, gross margin, and CAC payback without handing the work off to Finance.
  • You understand SMB and self-serve. The customer is a solo therapist spending $300–$600 per month, not a hospital CFO.
  • You do your best work in early-stage ambiguity and want to own a big bet end to end.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • 100% remote – no office, no commuting
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, with 75% of your premium covered by Blueprint
  • Semi-annual team gatherings (in Chicago!)
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Opportunities to grow with the company and shape our product
  • Hardworking, mission-driven, friendly coworkers
