The Second Cook provides guests with a level of service that exceeds their expectations through the preparation and presentation of food. The job involves:
- Ability to rotate and work in all stations of the kitchen
- Preparing all dishes from raw to finished state
- Rotating stock, receiving orders and storing product
- Adhering to strict cleanliness standards as you complete assigned tasks
- Working as one team under stressful conditions during high volume business levels
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, move equipment and other items as needed
- Working safely, and in compliance with OH&S policies and legislation
- Thorough knowledge of all activities and promotions occurring at our casino properties
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
The ideal candidate has:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a la carte cooking
- Experience using grills, deep fryer, stove and flat top
- Certificate in Basic Food Preparation
- Food Safe Handling Certificate
- Good knife handling skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Exceptional communication skills
