About Zipline

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.

Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.

We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About You and The Role

Zipline’s delivery fleet depends on technicians performing maintenance safely, consistently, and efficiently across diverse operating environments. As a Process Engineer, you will turn engineering intent into validated service workflows that protect fleet health and support reliable operations.

You will own maintenance processes from design and field validation through controlled documentation, performance measurement, and improvement. Your work will connect hardware engineering, reliability, tooling, data, training, and field operations to improve maintenance quality, repeatability, technician adoption, and efficiency.

What You'll Do

  • Own standardized maintenance processes for inspections, servicing, component replacement, and complex repairs, translating engineering intent into technician-ready workflows.
  • Validate workflows through field pilots and technician feedback, resolving usability, repeatability, and safety issues before broader deployment.
  • Partner with Hardware Engineering, Reliability, Tooling, and Operations to align service processes with aircraft architecture and improve design-for-maintainability.
  • Apply lean methods, error-proofing, and automation opportunities to reduce process variation and improve maintenance efficiency.
  • Establish process controls for work instructions, visual aids, and process changes so technicians execute current procedures consistently.
  • Partner with training leadership to embed approved process changes into technician training materials and execution.
  • Define and monitor process KPIs with Data and Reliability, prioritizing corrective actions that improve safety, maintenance quality, technician adoption, and efficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • 4-6 years of experience in mechanical or mechatronic design, including translating technical designs into service, maintenance, or operational processes.
  • Experience developing, documenting, or validating maintenance workflows or technical procedures with frontline users.
  • Ability to investigate process failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools.
  • Experience applying GD&T and technical drawing best practices.
  • Clear technical communication and willingness to travel up to 25% for field process validation and collaboration.
