The opportunity
Help shape the future of Data & AI at Netwealth
At Netwealth, we're building technology that helps Australians create better financial futures. As we continue to invest in Data & AI, we're looking for a Principal, Advanced Analytics to become our leading authority in advanced analytics, data science and applied statistics across the organisation.
This is a role for someone who loves solving complex problems, turning ambiguity into clarity, and helping others make better decisions through data. You'll work across the business, partnering with senior leaders, engineers, product teams and stakeholders to uncover meaningful insights, build robust analytical solutions, and establish the standards that shape how advanced analytics is practised at Netwealth.
What you'll be doing
Leading Netwealth's most complex and high-impact analytical challenges from problem definition through to insight, model or solution.
Applying advanced statistical modelling, machine learning, experimentation and causal inference to answer important business questions.
Partnering with Product, Engineering, Risk and business teams to ensure data drives meaningful outcomes and decisions.
Setting the technical standards, methods and review practices that define great analytics at Netwealth.
Coaching, mentoring and uplifting analytical capability through communities of practice and influence rather than hierarchy.
What makes this role different
Our Technology Operating Model recognises that exceptional technical expertise is a career destination, not a stepping stone into people leadership. We have dedicated craft and leadership pathways that are equally valued, creating opportunities for deep specialists to have organisation-wide impact through expertise, influence and technical leadership.
You'll join a growing Data & AI function where data is treated as a strategic asset, AI is thoughtfully governed, and advanced analytics plays a critical role in shaping the future of our products, experiences and business decisions.
About you
You'll likely bring:
Significant experience in advanced analytics, data science or applied statistics at a senior or principal level.
Deep expertise in statistical modelling, machine learning, experimentation and causal inference.
Strong Python, R, SQL and modern data platform experience.
A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and setting standards that others adopt.
The ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, whether you're speaking with an analyst, executive or board member.
