Key Responsibilities:


Position Purpose:

The Prevention officer is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of GBV prevention activities, mobilizing community leaders and men & boy’s inclusion of religious/Faith leaders both at camp and host community; women and girls from the community to participate in awareness campaigns and discussions/dialogue on GBV, conducting community trainings, supervising community outreach facilitators and managing budget lines for prevention activities. The officer will also work with the community with close collaborations with site management and others actors & sector staff to identify GBV risks and share findings on a regular basis to inform advocacy.


Key Responsibilities:


 Project Implementation & Management:

 

  • Implement Day to Day operations of at Camp and Leaders house or community leaders at Host Communities.
  • Motivate and ensure teamwork among protection assistants and outreach workers for greater ministry impact, in the community
  • Work in liaison with CiC, Camp management agencies, Union Porishad, service providers, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation.
  • Take full responsibility for quality implementation prevention activity like EMAP, GBV activities such as awareness.  
  • Coordinate with all sector-based agencies in the camps to ensure compliance to inter agency and World Vision International standards for implementing GBV in emergencies as well as gender mainstreaming. 
  • Organize meetings with men and boys as well as faith groups to ensure effective participation and support in the respective project activities.
  • Implement Project activities as per DIP.
  • Develop & keep tracking regular monthly, quarterly and annual target achievement records of Beneficiaries and Budget. 
  • Actively support pre-distribution activities for NFI distribution i.e beneficiary assessment and sensitization.
  • Ensure documentation in an appropriate manner.
  • Organize the awareness raising, campaign event/program in communities’ level at camp area coordinating with different stakeholders
  • Maintain strong collaboration and cooperation with response team (GBV Officer, PSS activity officer, Case Manager, case worker) to prevent GBV issues in the community under supervision of Project Coordinator.

Partnership, Networking & Advocacy:


  • Establish and liaise closely with other partners, agencies and local leaders regarding project activities to ensure a coordinated approach to project implementation, including participation in relevant workshops, meetings and to keep the GBV Manager informed.
  • Participate in interagency assessments.
  • Participate in sector meetings as need to be.
  • Follow-up with service providers, community-based support groups and the survivors themselves to ensure survivors receive timely support
  • Maintain collaboration and cooperation with prevention team to ensure GBV prevention service in the community area under supervision of their supervisor.
  • Strengthen and maintain networks with community leaders, women leaders, service providers and camp management to ensure that survivors receive compassionate support from the community

Trainings and capacity building:


  • Enhance and train women, men, boys and girls on GBV prevention and response.
  • Safely link up survivors who wish to disclose and seek support for their GBV experiences with GBV case management services offered at the women space.
  • Disseminate information to the community on where and how to report GBV incidences and encourage reporting
  • Document and share key GBV risks identified during implementation
  • Engage the community in participatory exercise to develop context specific IEC materials and messages to facilitate community level sessions.
  • Assist communities identify their priorities, opportunities and resources for effective GBV prevention & response, participation and psychosocial project implementation.
  • Organize the awareness raising, campaign event/program in communities’ level at camp area and at host community coordinating with different stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guideline to the Response and Prevention team on implementing response and prevention activities.
  • Take responsibility to strengthen capacity of every personnel related to project by facilitating trainings and providing guidelines


Monitoring and evaluation:


  • Prepare sub project proposals, purchase requests and relevant documents in advance to facilitate implementation of planned activities.
  • Track and manage project budget lines assigned
  • Checking, storage of all documents such as master role, approvals etc.
  • Prepare Project need assessment and compilation report.

  • Project activities are implemented with high quality and strong teamwork across community, outreach workers and GBV staff. Coordination with CiC, camp management, government agencies, and service providers ensures smooth, compliant, and well‑aligned implementation of GBV activities in both camp and host communities. Community participation increases through regular engagement with women, men, boys, and local leaders, while project plans and reports are delivered on time. Effective internal communication, proper approvals, and close collaboration with the Project/GBV Manager contribute to efficient operations and improved program impact.
  • A well‑coordinated and collaborative project environment is ensured through strong partnerships with agencies, local leaders, and relevant stakeholders, with regular participation in workshops, meetings, and inter‑agency assessments, while keeping the project coordinator fully informed to support effective decision‑making.
  • Community members gain improved knowledge on GBV prevention and response, and survivors are safely linked to appropriate case management services. Reporting pathways are clearly communicated, risks are documented to strengthen programming, and context‑specific IEC materials enhance community awareness. Community groups are empowered to support prevention and response efforts, awareness campaigns are well coordinated, and teams receive the technical guidance and capacity‑building needed to ensure high‑quality implementation. 
  • Planned activities are implemented smoothly through timely preparation of sub‑project proposals and purchase requests, with project budget lines managed efficiently. All required documents including master rolls and approvals are accurately checked, properly stored, and maintained to ensure accountability and compliance.
  • A staff member who consistently demonstrates World Vision’s Core Values through respectful work practices and positive relationships, actively collaborates with key working groups, and participates in exposure visits to strengthen learning

 


Knowledge, Skill & Experience:

Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification:


  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in any discipline preferably in Social science/Social welfare/Anthropology/Law/Gender studies.
  • Post graduate degree

  • Clear Understanding on the issues project has to work on.
  • Must Experience in EMAP Module.
  • Knowledge on current development and emergence issues
  • Good conceptual and practical skill to write project concept paper and design documents of the project.
  • Good knowledge and skills in forecasting and budgeting
  • Baseline survey, Evaluation and Monitoring process and tools.
  • Good facilitation skill of Training, Seminar and Advocacy programs.
  • Proven management and leadership ability
  • Good communication and networking skill
  • Chittagong/Rohingya language skills will be taken into consideration. Good command in English & Bengali, both written and verbal.
  • Decision making and conflict resolution skills
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation
  • Minimum of 3 years working experiences in the GBV relevant field.
  • Ability to work under stressful condition and adaptive to local culture and situation
  • Must be able to do multiple tasks and willingness to travel in various locations of BRCR as required
